We should fear the Jets

Historically, when the Jets do well... we suck.

1969 - Jets win Super Bowl in Joe Namath era. Yanks mired in Horace Clarke era.

1982 - Jets lose AFC Championship game in Mark Gastineau era. Yanks mired in Steve Kemp era.

1998 - Jets lose AFC Championship game in Vinnie Testaverde era. Yanks win WS.

2009 - Jets lose AFC Championship game in Mark Sanchez era. Yanks win WS.

Today - Jets play Steelers. Yanks mired in Sergio Mitre off-season.

Statistical summary: Throughout history, in seasons when the Jets lose in the AFC Championship game, there is a 66 percent chance that the Yankees will win the World Series.

In seasons when the Jets win the Super Bowl, there is a 100 percent chance that the Yankees will be putrid.

The Jets are going to win it all.

I've said this since training camp, when Ryan began mouthing off and they kept acquiring players like Tomlinson.

It has been a never ending nightmare for Giants fans who are keenly aware that what the Giants are
doing to improve themselves ( nothing) will land them at an 8 win season for the next decade.

The logic trail here is that the Jets win SB, get the parade down wall street, and the Yankees come in last.

That's what I've been saying.

I have been a life long Yankee fan since the early 60s, I can remember 7 World Series wins, I have been a Jet fan since 1966 and of course only 1 Super Bowl,
I know I will be killed for this, I will take a Jet Super Bowl win this year and say heck let the Yankees go 81-81 and have the Red Sox win a World Series. (There I said it)

@nutballgazette

You're not a real Yankees fan are you? Just a bandwagon guy who cares more about football. It's the only explanation for your heinous comment.

GO GIANTS!

Really am a Yankee fan But I want to see a Jet Super Bowl win, Let The Red Sox win this year and then the Jets can go abck to being the Jets and the Yankees can pull off 5 in a row defeating the Red Sox in the ALCS all 5 times.

How about a dream NY year,

The Giants defeat the Cowboys, Eagles then Patriots to win the Super Bowl
(Though I really am a jet fan)

The Rangers defeat the Flyers, Bruins, Isles and the Red Wings to win the Cup

The Knicks defeat the Celtics, Heat, Bulls and then Lakers to win the NBA

And of course the Yankees defeat Anyone then the Red sux and then Cardinals (Hate LaRussa) to win the WS.

That is the ultimate New York Sports year

Hard hitting analysis like El Duque's is why I keep coming back here. You can't argue with the numbers.

I'm going to root for the Jets to beat the Steelers and then lose the Super Bowl, as how it will affect the Yankees is a complete unknown. Same as how the Yankees are going to get from the first inning to Soriano.

Bad News Red Sox fans, No Jets Super Bowl so that means the Yankees win it all, Red Sox fans will be joining the Patriot fans in the Whine gallery

despite all you wrote in your second comment, you are still not a real yankee fan.
alphonso:
It's halftime I have the jets plus 24 points, do you think I'll cover?

Looks like we don't have to worry about the Jets anymore. Their sorry asses got beat 24-19. Can't wait to see Rex Ryan's post game interview.

Crisis averted.

Duque,
You should present that analysis at the next SABR convention.
I hate the J-E-T-S simply because most Met fans I know root for them, bro.
