Tonight, evil Joe Maddon brings his fiendish charts and graphs to town, and every smoked liner that finds the glove of an overshifted infielder will sting even more than it did in the season's first games.
If we cannot beat Tampa's defense, not only are we fighting for third, but eventually, we will face overshifts by every team.
Hitting has always been about adjustments. Tampa adjusted to us. If we cannot adjust to their adjustment, another nail goes into the coffin of this season. It's simple: Knock them out of their allignments, and watch their pitchers turn against the strategy. We can break them. What we can't do is try to drive the ball through them.
