Media Bias Filtering Out Good News From Bronx

Some of the most powerful media types in America don't want the Yankees to succeed in the AL East. Yankee players have told me that the biggest morale challenge they are facing is not from Terry Francona's thugs, but rather from the biased, slanted reports we're getting from New York news organizations. Positive developments--like the rise of Edwar Ramirez and the election of Arod, Jeter and Posada to the All-Star team--are routinely ignored as dishonest reporters deliberately highlight discouraging stories, such as daily losses.

Other teams are going to beat the Yankees every day because they know the Daily News and the New York Post are going to put it on the back page. That's the strategy of the teams who want the Bombers to lose, and the New York dailies are actually helping those teams by reporting useless Yankee losses.

Now, we don't believe that the season is going well. And we've said that over and over. But are we going to bring you every loss? No. Because, unlike bigger and more powerful media outlets, we are not ideologically motivated to bring down the Yankees.
