Judge is staying? But, but, I just wrote this...

Aaron Judge Is Gone And That's A Good Thing: A Rationalization

And so we've been spared the declining years of the man who gave us one of the greatest seasons in our lifetime. He will now remain legend. A God. Let's face it, no one wanted to see an arthritic Jimi Hendrix barely able to strum out Red House or an octogenarian Jesus trying to heal his own colon or turn water into Metamucil.

As the kind farmers of Iowa said to Billy Mummy, "It's good that Judge was signed by SF."

The number Judge got is totally fair and deserved considering what Cole and G pull down. It still makes no sense, they all wind up being albatrosses after the first third of a long term deal. But it seems to be SOP for signing big stars.

It does make me wonder if there was collusion between Judge's agent and the Giants to drive up the price. Not an accusation, just a thought.

As fans we will call BS on any complaints by management that they can't spend on pitching or the rest of the position players we need. No excuse for not signing Rodon.

Compared to this deal Verlander is underpaid, so I hope he's upset. Why didn't he wait for Judge to be signed first?

Hendrix would have been good for at least another 2-3 MVPs though he could of eventually had hearing problems. Of course Beethoven was completely deaf by the end and still composing symphonies so it might not have mattered. This thing with Judge should have been done years ago but better late than never!

We can collectively exhale. Yanks dodged a bullet the size of an artillery shell. If they lost Judge, they would've been like the Round Table without Lancelot. A shell of its former self.

Now we can focus on what needs to be done to get this team back to the World Series. But with the Cashman re-signing, that prospect took a colossal hit.

I once wrote 5,000 words on how Billy Mummy and Ron Howard were cuddly, adorable red-haired icons dueling for the soul of America.

Mummy came from the Twilight Zone, Howard from Mayberry.

Mummy represented the dark side. Howard was goodness.

I can't find it. Lost.

Too bad. I would have liked to have read that. It's an interesting theory.

Question: If Howdy Doody did the Pinocchio thing and became a little boy. Which one would he have been? You gotta admit it's close.

Lost Duque... in space.

And I wouldn't call the cornfield Billy Mumy cuddly OR adorable. Less than Dennis the menace.

For me growing up, Mummy was more Lost In Space than Twilight Zone. With so many memorable quotes of my youth that we use to make fun of:

CRUSH KILL DESTROY!
OH, THE PAIN.
MOISTURE! MOISTURE!

Mummy's Will Robinson was almost a role model. Transcending the Serling darkness to lead us with the Robot on a series of great adventures.

That said - if Doug wouldn't mind me answering his question - I see Ron Howard as Howdy Doody if Doody ever did the Pinocchio thing and became a little boy.

Puppets that come to life are never a good thing. NEVER! Even Lamb Chop would be a cold blooded killer if given half a chance. And don't get me started on Charlie Horse, who if I'm not mistaken was the original "Sling Blade".

In related news, ICS is still a delusional crybaby.

And no one has ever truly explored the secret darkness surrounding Shari Lewis' life . . .

I would've read that, too, Duque.

Was it Billy Mummy in "Bless the Beasts and the Children"?

From that article:

"Marquez pointed to advanced statistics, saying Sanchez’s “exit velocities last season compared well to those of [Willson] Contreras and [Christian] Vázquez, and that his expected slugging percentage and weighted on-base average were significantly higher than his actual numbers,” per The Athletic. Per Baseball Savant, his expected batting slugging percentage ranked 84th in the majors among all batters with at least 10 plate appearances and his barrel rate was 43rd."

So in other words... even though we all know he sucks he's actually pretty good. Even though we all KNOW he sucks.

And people don't understand why we're not fans of analytics.
