That said - HammahToe - you made some great points.
Surgery is indeed Stoopid unless it’s the only choice or when when you've exhausted all other options.
Here’s some alternatives that also wouldn't work:
Fire Boone and make Judge a player/manager.
Have Judge wear shoes with jet powered retractable wheels in them that will allow him to zip around the bases. Have them pop out and power up to speed or stop and retract (Shazam-like) whenever he yells out a brand slogan, such as TOOMGIS!
Shoot the toe up before every game with morphine.
F*ck It - get the surgery by have it finished up by a plastic surgeon and tattoo artist to resemble a Hello Kitty head.

We all wish someone would want Stanton. Or Gleyber. Or DJL. Or Abreu. Or Domingo. Etc Etc Etc. Or even a Bauer-Franchy-McKinney package.
So tell me: Which one(s) would you actually try and get?
I think Peraza, Cabrera, and Volpe are in the process of proving they ain't got nothing. However, maybe you (Mr. Mystery GM) see them and think - heck - my hitting/fielding coaches might be able to teach them something.
But......even if so........would you part with a player that's worth anything at all for one or even all three of those youths?

Joe FOB, if I'm another team's GM, I think I'm looking to maybe get Volpe—can field, steal bases, maybe learn to hit away from the Yankees—and the relievers, particularly King, Holmes, and Johnny Lasagna, assuming he's well. They might help my team.
And...I'd go for Florial. Almost no cost, could be a good pinch-runner, defensive replacement.
