"He crossed lines that have never been crossed before... A Yankee executive does not talk like that publicly, does not use expletives like that, does not have that kind of mouth when the camera’s rolling.... You cannot tell me that what Brian did yesterday is good for the Yankee brand.”

Interesting. Maybe it's finally open season on him.
Joel Sherman's first column on Cashman's press conference was uncharacteristically brutal as well.

His next one was much softer.
this was from Tuesday/Wednesday:

Michael Kay - who knew.
Off with his head.
The Intern's, not Kay's. Although losing him wouldn't hurt either.
Don’t worry, Kay will soften up when next season rolls around.
Kay can be critical on his radio show but he toes the company line on YES. That's called "duplicity," I think.
JM - It would be a blast to see him just lose track of where he was and blast Cash during a YES BROADCAST.
Golly - I give up my sealed, 53 year old TWINKIE collection to experience that must see TV event.
Cashman has a 5% approval rating among Yankee fans. Nothing he does is good for the Yankee brand. Certainly not his incompetent management. I shudder when I think of all the fresh damage he's going to do this winter.
Five percent?
There are Yankees fans who think he’s doing a good job?
Relatives of his?
53 year old twinkie collectoin?
You've been holding out on us?
Roofus - I was planning on sharing at our next Bronx Jamboree
Interesting. I wonder if it's some sort of trial balloon. Reading the Yankees' intentions is like Kremlinology. You never know who is putting something out there, or why.
