Fairy Tale run May Be Over

I want Cabrera to be a success.

I was thrilled ( and encouraged) when Boone left him in the line-up.  He had earned it.

But I noted that he was 0-3 yesterday, with two strike outs.

He also made a poor throw to FB.  One which a young Rizzo would have gobbled up, covering for this error.

I fear the best is now behind him, and my hope for a young third baseman will quickly fade into yesteryear.

DJ is likely to be out a month.

We need you, O.

Yeah, but he had to play SS because of Volpe's stomach ache. (Hope the little fox doesn't have mononucleosis from a Dallas Cowboy's cheerleader's mouth. Yeah, they're beautiful all right, but ya never know what those beautiful bitches put in their mouths these days.)

Keefe To the City encompassed my feelings this weekend when he wrote this:

"The Yankees are 4-0 and the Astros are 0-4. That may be my most favorite sentence I have ever written."

Fuck the Asstros ... to life-long debilitating injury, especially Cheater Shrimp, with the moldering foot of Curt Schilling. Again and again.

Fuck Hall too.

Alphonso, you are soooo right. Celebrating DJ's demise is not only premature but foolish. He's not likely to choke under pressure, he probably can still hit and field second, third, and first. And teams can never have too many quality players on their rosters. Yeah, he's not going to be five years younger but getting him in 110-120 games will keep him fresh. If he was playing for the fckng Rays we'd be bitching that Hal was to cheap to get a guy like that. Too many fans buy into the ESPN-type media analysis and pine for the next young superstar, who may become Mickey Mantle. Well DJ has passed the tests, but I could fill up a page with guys who were "Darlings" only five years ago already forgotten. Forgive the ramble, like Ed Tom Bell my mind wanders....

Kay says that "the Yankees are making the Diamondbacks look bad" after that last play.

No, Michael, the Diamondbacks can do that all by themselves.

Is this some sort of alternative universe?

Stang - if these our 2024 New York Yankees win ten in a row to start off the season - would you consider being our next President of the United States?

Little Tony!! 3 for 3!!

Not watching.

Why did Bonehead take out Gil pitching a one hitter, ONE FUCKING OUT before he'd get the (w)?

Was it the classic pitch through a little elbow pain?

Little Tony may stick around for a while. Can we give him a garlic necklace that will ward off any hitting coaches that try to 'help' him?

Ronel Blanco, who wouldn’t have been in the Astros’ rotation to begin the year had it not been for injuries to Justin Verlander and José Urquidy, tossed the 17th no-hitter in franchise history by dominating the Blue Jays at Minute Maid Park on Monday night.

How do ya like that? As Howard Cosell used to say...

I could have sworn that the Yanks were off tonight. The only thing "off" is me...

AA—Would I have to buy a suit?

LITTLE TONY!!!! 4 FOR 4!!!

No - However I'd buy one for you IF you wanted one, and planned to wear it as President.

Otherwise - I'd be perfectly happy purchasing you a new pair of shoes (your choice of course) to wear whilst in the Oval Office.

Ruf, probably more like the pitch count as ordered by the ANAL-lytics Dept. But the Gil-a Monster looked healthy and pitched well, and if he can given us more of that….well you know the rest.

"We are become Volpe, destroyer of worlds."

Honestly, this makes me think of that old sports cliche: They're doing it with mirrors.

Or to paraphrase a certain Dr. Seuss:

"It came without Judge
It came without Cole
It came without Stanton or Rizzo or Dugo..."

Most of the big bats aren't booming yet. No fantastic outings by the pitchers. But we won. And keep winning.

And...the Mets lost, 5-0 in 10, in a stadium full of drawn sepulchral faces, so quiet you could hear the freezing wind whistling off Flushing Bay. Every sad, miserable loss making Mr. Soto stop, and think it over—to quote another NYC bard.

I'll chip in for Stang's suit, as long as it's not a straightjacket.

I'd even chip in for new kicks.

TBH, I'd rather have him as baseball commish. But, I'd support no matter what.

And great point BTR. Never underestimate the idiocy of the ANALtyical types.
