Grisham can't bunt.

This pitchcom shit is really stupid.

JM said...

No way you send Grisham on that bullet.

Ramirez...he who was traded for Jazz...goes deep. Will the juju gods never tire of kicking Cashman in the balls?

It is the evening of the day
I sit and watch the children play
Smiling faces I can see but not for me
I sit and watch as tears go by

I know many of us follow Neil Keefe, but his latest piece says it so much better than I could:

“No one could have envisioned all four deadline day acquisitions would play a major role in the Yankees suffering a loss not experienced by the franchise in more than eight decades in their very first game with the team. But my biggest worry when the Yankees made all the moves they made at the deadline was that they gave Boone so many pieces to play with that he wouldn’t know how to use them. It took one game for that fear to be realized. Boone needs eight everyday players at all eight positions, five clear starting pitchers, a pure seventh-inning pitcher, eighth-inning pitcher and closer. He needs a 12-piece puzzle with giant pieces and pictures of safari animals on them. He was supplied with a 1,000-piece puzzle of the Manhattan skyline at night”
Beautiful and absolutely 🎯

Keefe gets it right most of the time.

Paulie talking about getting Leiter and Cruz back soon and how deep the bullpen will be. But who gets sent down or DFA'd? They can't fit all these guys on the roster.

Weaver. But we needed Williams and two other closers, because, The Brain.

Two hits today. After last night, complete no show. This is a bad baseball team.

JM said...

Lost again. Good pitching, no hitting.

So at the end of the season, they present the World Series trophy to the winner. Is that when Brian $man gets the Trade Deadline Championship plaque? Just wondering if I should plan on tuning in for the big event, & if I can buy a commemorative t-shirt or something.

Turns out that IS the big event, Hinkey.

No fire after last night. Team has no grit either

Good teams figure out how to stick it all way down opponents' throats. Especially when they have a "must win" situation. This team has yet to show that ability. This team should be so much better. I'm no saying 1998 Yankees better, but fuck, better than this.

AboveAverage said...

Agreed. . . I’m just concerned that when THIS TEAM is ten plus games out no one will be commenting here anymore.

Everyone will be like Alex de large, staring into the Thames with all of their personal belongings wrapped up in a paper satchel, thinking about the nasty naughty….

"Where's Basil? Where's my snake"? "Well son, he met with a bit of an accident. He passed away".

Like "Sleepy Sanchez", Glib Gleyber, I am now convinced that Chisholm needs to hit the trail. They aren't " winning ballplayers ". And. Wells might be teetering. Perhaps I am being harsh since there doesn't seem to be a single coach who should be playing the BAD COP since Boone seems to be incapable of such action. Boone could land a PR position one day with a company like Monsanto or a landfill giant explaining how there property values will go.up because of groundwater contamination...
