We would be totally fucked without Stanton

Just saying. With Ghost disappearing, he's currently the player we wish Judge could be.

And he doesn't suck in right field. No Gold Glove, but adequate.

Something's wrong with Judge. This is like the beginning of last year. Ever since the injury...

Anyway, it's now two in the morning in New York. Symmetry.

Keefe yesterday, and I totally agree:

"The best hitter on the Yankees doesn’t get to play every day in Giancarlo Stanton. He’s hitting .306/.383/.638 and is the best he’s been as a Yankee and since his 2017 NL MVP season. And yet, he didn’t play on Monday, didn’t start on Friday or Wednesday and got one at-bat in St. Louis. Stanton not being the designated hitter so Judge can is so perfectly the Boone Yankees. Judge is hitting .210/.380/.403 since coming off the injured list on August 5. In that same time, Stanton is hitting .441/.525/1.029.

"Stanton has been hitting and hitting no matter who the opponent is, while Judge went 2-for-14 against the Red Sox and 2-for-9 against the Astros — the only two teams with winning records the Yankees have faced in August. One extra-base hit (a double) for Judge in this seven games. It’s a precursor of what to expect in the playoffs, which is what has always happened in this era in the playoffs: Stanton shows up and Judge doesn’t. When we look back on this era of the Yankees, one that is unlikely to include a championship, we’ll know it wasn’t because of Stanton."

Both of them would be great players *IF* they could stay uninjured.

Stanton's permanent injury is that he can't outrun jabba the hut.

And yet, Rufus, he doesn't make stupid baserunning mistakes and has been able to handle fielding again. Sure, he's slow, but he does still run. That alone is something. Didn't he steal a base this year? Or was it last year? Proof that you don't need speed to steal bases, though it helps.

Judge is another story, really. No one will confuse him with Clutch Cargo. His disappearing act in the postseason is already legendary. This is the second time in the past two seasons that he's also disppeared for a month or so. Is he some kind of a head case? It's strange.

If a guy hits .300 with insane power and comes through in clutch situations, I don't care if he crawls to the bag. We might be getting to that point before his contract runs out.

Judge disappears for a month every year, even his great ones. Here's hoping he snaps out of it someday soon. In the meantime .... Stanton needs to play every day as JM suggests

JM, we are totally fucked WITH him.

Just because he’s given us a sniff of the biscuit FOR THE FIRST TIME IN EIGHT YEARS doesn’t mean this was the absolute worst signing of the reign of The Intern.

Shame we can’t trade him now and get some value in return.

As for Judge, my money is on TJ surgery as soon as the season is over. Which should be in the first round.

Hindsight is 20-20. At the time he was the NL MVP and pairing him with Judge was a potential dream come true.

The reality has been very different and I also view him as an albatross. Not even so much for how few games he's played and how ineffective he is for the most part.

He was the reason we passed on several players who would have helped us more including my personal preference, Bryce Harper, whose desire to both be a Yankee and desire to win might have made a big difference for the team.
