1. Is the picture real? I got it at BlueSky. Looks real to me, but I don't know.
2. Does it offer clues to the workings of his mind? For instance, does it help explain, as River Ave. Blues posted, why they "traded for Amed Rosario, a terrific hitter against lefties, and the idiot manager just doesn't use him against lefties despite being presented with opportunities every single night"?
3. Is it, as stuntbirdarmy.bsky.social wonders, a right-wing pivot to save his job?
4. Or is reporter Marisa Kabas correct in speculating, "andy pettite probably gave it to him."

He's just praying he gets fired, so he can collect the rest of his overpaid contract and go back to his overpaid commentator job at one of the 25 networks you have to subscribe to in order to see the Yankees.
Either that or he's praying he won't be offed by an angry Yankees fan.

Wednesday is a getaway day afternoon game. Would be a good opportunity should they want to go that route. Unfortunately for us, they don't want to.
It's incredible. He hot one of the biggest HRs in Yankees history. He should eat for free in Manhattan for the rest of his life, have every hotel room comped. He should show up at old times day every summer to a wonderful ovation and big smiles. He will end up a Yabkee pariah, for at least a decade. The vitriol will fade and he'll be welcomed back. But the guy has flushed what should have been infinite good will down the drain.
This stint as manager may actually obliterate all memory of that home run which, while big, was possibly not one of the biggest. It's that classic thing where you can be great, but one real boner and that's what they remember you for. If the boner happens to be a multi-year stint as the public moron face of the franchise, that could be a big hill to climb again on the road to free meals, hotel rooms, hookers, you name it. And IF HE IS A CHRISTIAN FUNDO FREAK, maybe someone should tell him that Hal is Satan and Brian is Satan's daughter. If he's a real god-fearing man, he might just leave town on his holy broomstick.
And us snowballing our way downhill into senility may help things along a bit.
