So, it turns out that baseball standings, even the concept of baseball standings, is fake news, designed to advance the patriarchy. We are in no place. We are in the game of life. As Ma Boone says, “ it’s all right in front of us.”
Brunchin’ with the first few innings of the game. Hopefully I can keep my meal down. Haven’t “viddy’d” YES in quite a while. Boy oh boy have those boys behind the desks aged up. Jowls a swinging and eyes a drooping. Isn’t life the best!
WTF was that? Did they decide to prank Volpe before the inning? 'Hey, Jazz, Gleyber, if there's anything hit to Ant'ny, everybody cut in front of him!' Awful play by Chisholm, but the Gleyber play—even though his arm saved him—was almost inexplicable. WTF is he doing over there?
Yet another example of how mentally erratic and schoolyard-like this team is, all the time. Boone does not have control of it.
It's not like the bullpen is important, or anything. By the by, I saw that—after his wretched start to the season—Hader has 25 straight saves. Yeah, we didn't want that guy on our team.
Eight times he got to "last strike of the game"...and ended up allowing a walk and a hit. And this was with him getting the call on everything on the edge. As you might expect in a home game—but still.
And in the "could've been worse" category, Paul O'Neill ended the game with a chuckle and the mysterious note that, "That play could've been easier, but Gleyber got messed up with his glove."
I don't know what "messed up with your glove" even means. But of course, it happened to Gleyber. Sigh.
This game was in so many ways exactly what this team was built for. A good start by our pitcher, and Judge, Soto, and Stanton with 4 homers between them. And we barely pulled it out. This should tell somebody somethin', but you can't tell him nothin'.
"Unnerving". Can't wait for those close playoff games with the bullpen and Gleybor... Hopefully, surely we lose The Holmes and Gleybor to free agency. Right?
If Billy Martin was the manager back in The Day, would he have made Gleybor a better ballplayer? I understand that today's milliona, er, ballplayers are more sensitive... but maybe an ass chewing would serve some of these guys better than getting their asses kissed. I dunno, my Old Man said that the Boomers were soft, but sheeeeeesh!
I did, Winny. I reviewed all my notes and the box scores “they” made available to “us” and I confirmed that you were indeed correct about me being correct. Now if only I could “correct “ them. Alas.

13bit. I agree 100%. We need to stay within ourselves and not try to do too much
We're just about to break out, LBJ, after our collective Tommy John lobotomies two years ago. Any day now...
He was commanding the zone, had both his breaking pitches working, and adjusted when he needed to.

This season just keeps getting more thrilling.
I thought he threw well. A little problem with location, that hurt him, but he was right there.
Mr. Haney against us today.
As the band Europe opined in arguably the worst rock song ever recorded, “It’s the Final Countdown!”
Oh, yeah. Baseball. Is that still a thing? After two weeks of terrific Olympics, I forgot all about the Yankees. Best two weeks of my life.

Need to score six more runs to get the win today
Soto!!!
Glassman finally locked in…
We score one more run and we win!
Infield suckage
I guess third is a little more difficult than they thought.

Back 2 Back!
Viddy well little brother, viddy well!
Thought you’d pick up on that, Kevin
I see that the Orioles lost to the tomato can Rays, so we MIGHT be tied for first after the game. Really a bizarre season.
Hoss. - It’s Volpe’s Glove Glove bobble head day at the stadium - of course they’re going to risk the game by messing withhim
Wow, is Sherlock about to blow this?

I guess DJ is not as fast as he thinks he is
Oh boy. Here we go…
How can the scorer rule "defensive indifference" with these guys? How can he tell the difference?
WHY!? WHY ARE YOU WALKING PEOPLE!??!!
He's going to blow another save.
We're going to lose a series at home against the Rangers.
Time for some managing, no?
Anybody watching "Delicious in Dungeon" on Netflix?
Where is Chapman when you need him?
Whew
Boy that was a real confidence booster....
BlownSave hasn't thrown that many pitches since 2019. Hopefully he won't pitch again for 3 or 4 games.
Or ever again in a Yankees uniform.
Even the wins feel like losses.
How many runs did the bullpen give up in the last two games?
14 earned runs Winnie, which is (checks math) not good
We barely survived today. Hope we don’t embarrass ourselves against the Chi Sux

Yeah, Warbler, I loved the postgame guys saying "The bullpen got dinged today." Like saying "Berlin got dinged in WW II."

Well, The Yamamoto is still in dry dock so I guess that we at least temporarily dodged some bitching and moaning.
A win is a win.
A loss is a loss.
A sadly run front office is a sadly run front office.
Am I forgetting anything?
AA is truly prophetic. He said we'd need 6 more runs to win at 1:55PM!

that was not a win. that was a message from the future. get ready for the fake playoffs and the real flush down the toilet of destiny
