I can't watch this. Schlittler looks crappy and they keep trying the high pitches, which aren't working.

Cam Schlittler looks like he's becoming a victim of his own success. His fastball was so good that he's become too aggressive. He throws first pitch 98 mph fastball high inside corner. Who does that to a great fastball hitter on the first pitch? The smart pitcher has always hit the low outside corner with the fastball for strike 1. Because that's the most difficult pitch to hit. When you have two strikes, then you throw high and inside, because the smart batter will be trying to protect the low outside corner, and he won't get around on your inside heater. If you're going to throw a heater up and in on the first pitch, then you better make sure it's off the corner inside and impossible to hit. This is just pitching fundamentals. And what went on in the 1st inning - that's on the pitching coach. Allowing a kid to get over aggressive with the fastball. Not pitching smart, not locating properly. Same thing as in the Detroit Tiger game. This kind of thing has been going on forever here. If something works here, they just run with it until the ceiling collapses. No thought to any fundamentals; no individual development; no adjustments; nothing.
Yeah, I think I'll watch "football" today. Fuck this crap.
