Cub Fans to Celebrate News that Team is Not Trading for Mike Cameron

Actually, it's a new book that features our own powerhitting, superstar thirdbaseman who is rumored to be kabuzeling Madonna... ALIBI IKE.

This Sunday night, Sheffield's Bar (no relation to Gary) will host a book release party for Cubbie Blues: 100 Years of Waiting Til Next Year. Exploring the curious psychology required to root for the Chicago Cubs, the book is an anthology of memoir, fiction, trivia, poetry, humor and more. Writers such as the Trib's Rick Kogan, NPR's Scott Simon, WXRT's Lin Brehmer, Sara Paretsky, Jonathan Eig, Don DeGrazia, Stu Shea, Thomas Dyja and James Finn Garner have contributed to this light-hearted collection. A portion of the proceeds from the book will be donated to Chicago Baseball Cancer Charities.

That's Sheffield's (no relation to Gary) from 7-10 pm on December 14. The Sun-Times' Dave Hoekstra will be DJing with selections from his vast collection of Cubs music, and writers will be on hand to personalize copies. The perfect gift for the Cub Fan on your list!

Ask for Ike! Then stand back.

The Cubs will put an end to their 101 year drought when they acquire Roy Halladay next December.

And with Cameron in CF and Swisher at 1B, the Yankees will be absent from the postseason again next season.
