I was reading on the Redsock Pravda (ESPN) a piece asking if Ivan Nova would be this year's Phil Hughes? (Typical Redsock disinformation.) The first commenter pointed out that - duh - Michael Pineda is this year's Phil Hughes.

It got me to a-thinkin'...

Obviously, Joba is this year's Carl Pavano - an injury piled onto an injury. And Andy Pettitte is probably this year's Roger Clemens (although let's hope he's more.)

The key questions:

Will Mark Teixiera be this year's Giambi?

Will Raul Ibanez be this year's Randy Wynn?

Will Clay Rapada be this year's Royce Ring?

Will Manny Banuelos be this year's Ivan Nova?

And the most important of all: Will CC, Arod, Cano and Jeet be this year's CC, Arod, Cano and Jeet? If so, we've got a fighting chance.
