ESPN: AJ & CC 2 NYY

ESPN says we got Burnett.

Worst case scenario: Four fewer losses to the Blue Jays.

Best case scenario: Baseball's best staff.

Think about it:
Sabathia
Wang
Burnett
Chamberlain
Pettitte (we MUST sign him)
Hughes, Kennedy, Aceves (either as long man or in Scranton)

Veras
Bruney
Giese/Edwar/Coke/Robertson/Albaladejo/Patterson
Melancon, Sanchez, Cox (fingers crossed)
Marte
Mariano

That's not counting (for now, because he's probably heading to Milwaukee) last year's Pitcher of the Year in Scranton: Mr. Kei Igawa.

And write this down... when healthy again: Alan Horne.

Best Burnett stat: he's 5-0 lifetime against Boston.

Too bad our offense will hit, on average .238 ( if A-Rod gets hot ) and score 1.2 runs per game, while defense puts up 2.7 errors per game, allowing 2 unearned runs per game, minimum.

I predict the outfield will log more than 80 fly balls which Tampa's OF would have caught, and we will play as hits.

But we do have two fine catchers averaging 39 years of age. And only one is coming off of surgery to his throwing arm.
