My recollection is that Peterson won the trade, which also included the family dogs. He's still married to Susan Kekich, and a few years ago, self-published his memoir. I think he got religion.
Kekich didn't last a season with Mrs. Peterson, or the Yankees. He pitched in Japan and is now somewhere in New Mexico - at least that's what Wikipedia says.
