Maybe it's a miracle day that gives the Yankees an extra 24 hours to make Judge deal happen!
Not that I'm advocating for a Judge deal. He lost me at the vaccine issue and the "I'm just trying to feed my family" quote.
Did he really say that??? But he doesn't have a family! At least, not his own wife, kids, etc.
And Judge never has o pay for a meal. He is beginning to sound like a guy who stood be on the Rangers.
I just want to second the idea that it is a black omen for the season when your opening day is rained out before anyone even gets on the subway.

According to the Y Post on 3/21/22, Judge stated that he would like to stay a Yankee for life, but, "I have to feed my family too."
According to Baseball -Reference, he has already made $20,526,100.00 and will receive at least $17,000,000.00 more this season through arbitration.
That is without the millions in endorsement he has gotten from being a Yankee. [How many Brewers are in national commercials?]
That is one big fucking family he must have.
Offer him 30Mill per year for 6 years. Give him until Friday to take. If he doesn't, trade him to a team in the middle of nowhere, like Texas, Milw., KC, or St.L. Good baseball towns, but not NY,
Plus, he can "feed his family" a lot cheaper in say, Marlins territory.

Incredible, how clueless many of these athletes are.
He can't just say something like, "I'd like to stay in New York, but I leave my agent to handle all the financial stuff"?
Ballplayers still want to all believe they are blue collar guys, hauling their lunchboxes off to work.
Perhaps he was being a bit sarcastic, seems to me that he has a wry sense of humor.
I think the smartest thing to do is to trade Judge before he has his next big injury. Get a few lefty bats, legit prospects, up the middle positions or even 3B. But we all know that it won't happen. Either Brain Cashman will re-sign him for a zillion dollars a year or he will walk away, probably to California, and we'll get ... nothing.
The rain out is a bird of ill omen. But then, this whole off season was an ill omen, with the lockout and all.
