Last night, Judge had a chance to do what his egregiously huge paycheck promises; come up with the big hit at the big moment.
Yanks had tied the game 3-3 and then, due to a variety of blunders, slipped behind 6-3. One of the key blunders came from Torres who tried to make up for it with a solo home run.
So now it is 6-4 in favor of Toronto.
Judge gets up with the tying run on first because Rizzo bunted for a base hit ( losing track of the ball in the process). In other words, Rizzo did what had to be done to give the Yankees a chance.
This is the moment.
If Judge is to be worth what he is paid now, much less the $70 million increment he is holding out for, he has to show that he is worth it. He has to come through at this very big moment.
He cannot fail. Any schlub can fail.
He struck out. Any schlub can strike out.
He isn't worth the money.

Again: plenty of reasons to drop Judge, plenty of reasons to sign him.
BUT, if they're going to drop him, THEY MUST TRADE HIM.

Alphonso, The Yankees overrate their players and so does talk radio. Because Judge sells jerseys, this does not make him the greatest thing since sliced bread.
Gleyber mishandled the sure double play ball ( the throw from third ) that gets the Yanks out of Toronto's big inning unscathed. Even the announcers said, " that is a routine double play that has to be made at this level, every time."
Has it occurred to anyone that Judge may not want to re-sign with the Yankees? We all know the Yankees ain't winning anything for the next quarter century. If we see it, I'm sure Judge sees it. He might just sign with one of the California teams. If he ain't going to win, he can play in his home state. Whoever he signs with will have a better chance of winning a championship than the Yankees. Whoever he signs with will probably offer more money than the Yankees. From Judge's perspective, it's a WIN, WIN, WIN.
@Hoss, they should trade him, but we all know it ain't going to happen. They'll hang on to him 'til the end of the year. And then lose him for nothing over the winter.
