So Cashman is wheeling and dealing again, to bolster a line-up that is weak.
One of the reasons for said weakness is the wheeling and dealing Cashman does, every year at this time.
We don't have a third baseman? Or a second baseman? Or a first baseman? Or an outfielder?
Just look in the dog pen of former players Cashman brought here in exchange for our best prospects.
We fans don't care, any longer, because we only get to the play-off game anyway. And lose in the 9th.
So this new guy ( an average player, by the way, with no exceptional position) can show up or not. No one cares. At least Harrison Bader ( after two years of planchar fasciitis ) could run.
Jazz is a disgruntled .250 singles hitter who is no better than Carbrera (who might be ascending, by the way...so it is time to dump him...or at least sit him down for the new guy ).
What the great cloud of Yankee news covers is the fact that it is Cashman who is largely at fault for 15 years of Yankee failure.
None of this trade crap means anything.
Just cloud cover.

Al, you're so right, probably no better than Oswaldo Cabrera. If they knew what they wuz doin', they'd put Chisholm at 2B, leave Cabrera at 3B, and trade Gleyber Torres right effing now.
But I saw on the Post that they're speculating about putting Chisholm at 3B! That would be so Cashman-esque. Another guy out of position. In order to sit Cabrera on the bench. Cabrera is already a much better player than DJ LeMahieu. He's more valuable than Mr. Garbageman Stanton, because he can play everyday and doesn't get hurt. Makes perfect sense for Cashman to bench Cabrera and put Chisholm at 3B, and then they can re-sign Gleyber Torres this winter for 7 years/100 million.
Amen to all that!
Saw another rumor on the Post that they're looking at getting Snell. If they do get him, that would be another exercise in futility, because they could've had Snell last winter by just paying him. He got 62 mill/2 years from the Giants. Yanks could've dumped Gleyber Torres, maybe traded a couple of other guys, like Clay Holmes, Nestor Cortes, Clarke Schmidt. They could've cleared the salary space to get Snell. So now they're going to give up prospects to get him? Makes zero sense. Another Cashman debacle.
Most importantly!, we do not have an individual who resembles a competent GM, heading up the Yankees.
Not to breath too much sunshine into the gloom, but Jizz has averaged 27 homers/162 games played. Not too shabby. But will he stay healthy?
Heard he's already had at least one back injury. Perfect specimen for the Yankee killer coaches to experiment with.
I hope they won't sign Jazz to a seemingly bargain 8 year extension. He already reeks of Aaron Hicks to me even though he plays infield.
You know, Vamp, that is a great point. Out of the blue Cashfuck can give out crazy contracts. Must be when HAL's accountants have ordered him to spend some money. I would not be in the least surprised, if that was Cashfuck's goal. Chisholm is making peanuts right now. Will make more peanuts next year. So Cashfuck's logic will be to ink him to a megadeal. Would not be shocked if something like that ended up happening this winter.
Love all the "Eve of Destruction" riffs, though!
What do you guys think of Rodon tonite? He pitched very well last time out. That means he's due for a stinker, right? Probably give up moonshots all over the park. Look for a blowout loss tonite. 16-1 Redsuckers
And another thing…joking but not joking…even the “big names” being mentioned as trade candidates don’t seem worth it. Blanket statement, but it all seems too buy high, get injured. I don’t see David Justice anywhere on the trade market.
These days, with the playoff format, very similar to the NHL in that regard, where half the teams make the postseason, it's become much harder to swing a deal. Price has gone up because everyone imagines that they're a contender.
Which is why if I was an opposing GM I would love to take on a Carlos Rodon. Because I think my pitching coach would straighten him out. He'd be a good #3 starter at least. I'd give up three prospects for him. Probably not any "top" prospects, but mid-level, yes. Maybe even one top prospect.
But Cashman is so stupid, he would never trade Rodon for anything. If someone plays terribly here, that guy is here for life.
