That trade to get Soto was massively stupid. It was questionable when it was made, but in retrospect it can be seen for the stupid move it really was.

I'm pretty sure he's a free agent at the end of this year. So if the Yankees want to pay him, which they would have had to at the end of this year anyway, they can. They only lost him for one (non-Soto) year. And we did make the series with Soto so not horrible. :)
He is indeed a F/A after this season. Stroman’s injury will allow the team to decline his option after this year, but will the penurious steinscummer really want to add another expensive long term contract to the rotation? I think not. Look for him in Flushing nest season.
