"I wonder if these people even like baseball sometimes."

Someone posted a link to Duque's Friday morning cry-for-help at Reddit's r/NYYankees, prompting a discussion of how wrong we are that led into a discussion of how good the Yankees are. Takes all kinds, right?

I've dropped by Reddit. Not geniuses, for the most part. At least, they haven't been paying close attention to the Yankees for anywhere near as long as we have. So double dumbass on them.

This was my favorite comment... (About El Duque)

"I don't get it, are you trying to impersonate Sterling? Your writing needs a lot of work. Mods should delete this shameless self-advertising.

FWIW, I also have a Substack. I don't post my shit here because I, like you, am not a real journalist"

Reddit is a mom's basement sorta site.

It IS very mom's basement. I shudder to think what happens when these morons have the levers of power. They already are beginning to. What they do not know is that the Yankees are in a state of permanent mediocrity - just good enough, but not good enough - and that the spark that generates greatness is stuck in Hal's constipated colon for eternity. The Yankees may flash and burn in May and June, but they almost always wilt and fade by August. And we have Groundhog Day every year. These morons don't know a thing. I remember, when everyone fled the city during Covid, some young wags were saying that "New York is done." I did not abandon ship and I knew NYC was not done. It's never done. Sure enough, all of these asshole returned a year later and shat on it for the rest of us. Those first, deserted six months of Covid were like a gift to introverts like me. I had the city back and all to myself. And yes, I have returned from the road and intend to spread the love.
