1. The Yankees are Ben Rice's team. When he slumps, they lose. When he hits, they win.
2. Upcoming scans on Aaron Judge's rib will dictate the entire Yankee trade deadline strategy.
3. Jasson Dominguez shows flashes of talent but does not look like a budding superstar.
4. Spencer Jones will be traded at the deadline.
5. The Yankees are ready to move on from Anthony Volpe.
6. Barring an injury or deep slump at Scranton, George Lombard Jr. will be our SS in September.
7. After Tampa, Boston is the team to fear.
8. Giancarlo Stanton is a complete non-factor. There is no reason to expect him back. Ever.
9. Throughout history, every great Yankee team had a great catcher. They currently have one of the worst in baseball.
10. The Yankees have so many needs - and so few trade chips - that Brian Cashman will not bother to chase a 3B at the deadline.
11. The Yankees have once again been handed the keys to NYC this fall, because the Mets are a complete bust.

Also, can someone tell me who our lights-out closer is for the pennant run? I'm asking for a friend who forgot.
Truth is that we actually don’t have one.
Is your friend going to be ok ?
Didn't think the Bastards had it in them to get the brooms out, but they did - thanks to the Gnats - worst bullpen in baseball.
JD continues to slog along, yes, flashes of brilliance, but not "looking like a superstar". He hasn't got hot so far. He's not hitting from the left side so far. In fairness, he's played a bit over 30 games, so we'll just have to wait.

Oh no you'll just have to wait
I would hang on to Jones. Because we're one injury from needing another outfielder anyway. Might as well have some depth there. Neither Jones nor Dominguez have gotten anything near the chance that Volpe and Wells were handed.
So, after the All-Star Break, which is going to be a despicable corporate commercial snooze fest, we're going into the stretch run. I think all signs point to a collapse, a total ceiling cave-in. Cabellero, gettin' picked off again yesterday. That kind of epitomizes what this team is about: Hard-headed (not in a good way), unerringly stupid, minimizing all their own talents with unforced errors both mental and physical. There's a very good chance Boston and Toronto pass these guys in the night. Because no else plays like drunks game in and game out.
Ain't that the truth.
I'll ask him after I cut him down from the rafter...
Can't disagree with you at all, HOG.
I hate the All Star Game, and fully support Schlittler’s decision to sit it out.
