Several bloggers on this site have criticized the film "Moneyball" (prompting me to view it in its entirety- and, frankly, it's pretty good - but a debate for later). Hank & Hal must have gone to a $1 matinee in Tampa and watched it. They missed the fundamental point, however. You get affordable GOOD players using statistics, hence saving money while still winning. Not the reverse, where you cut the payroll and your team improves statistically. By the way, Hank & Hal, the Oakland Athletics clinched their division title this afternoon. Thanks for the memories.
