Jesus Hammers Fourth

Future Yankee savior/DH Jesus Montero lifted His Gulf Coast Yankees into the finals of the Gulf Coast Kiddie Millionaire League Tuesday, beating the Gulf Coast Twins.
*
Jesus, the youngest (17) and biggest (6'4, 225) Gulf Coast Yankee prospect homered (his 4th) in three at bats, adding a clutch walk. He's batted .280 on the season.
*
Along with Jesus, the championship-bound Gulf Coasters sport some of the game's greatest potential names.
*
Melky "Lil Melky" Mesa.
Geraldo "GRod" Rodriguez.
Prilys "Schlafly" Cuello.
"The First" Noel Castillo.
"Sausage" Link Saunders.
And the "A to Z" Almonte boys, "Abe" and "Zollo."
*
Hats off to this championship team!

I can't believe Jesus is the DH. Who is the position player? Can't Jesus pitch?

Is Jesus simply a younger, more ethnic, poor man's version, of Shelley Duncan...today's Yankee without a position?

Jesus has to be the youngest guy in history ever " grandfathered " to the DH position. I mean, how old was Rueben Sierra when he decided to DH? Or Mike Piazza?

This also means that if Jesus were the property the Mets, or any national league club, he would have no future at all?

Jesus !!

Actually, according to history, Jesus is not 17 . So he is not overgrown for his apparent age.

He is actually 2007.

Working backwards, Jesus was 1.5 inches tall and weighed 3.75 pounds when he first entered Little League.

They called him " butterball" for the first several years of competition, but changed it to "Jesus" when he first turned the water cooler into the wine cooler.
