From the Enemy Camp: GOP leader in Massachusetts claims, We are the Yankee fans

In a long, almost unending letter to The Herald News, Jeffrey Hopkins, a local GOP leader compares the pain of being a Republican with that of rooting for the Yankees.

"Being a Republican in Massachusetts is like being a Yankee fan in Fenway Park. You know that you’re a Yankee fan; you just don’t go around announcing it. Most Republicans hide their party affiliation as if it’s a banner of shame. Business owners either don’t use the designation or have changed to un-enrolled status or the more popular phrase “independent.”
.
Their fear is that Democrats won’t purchase the goods and services they offer as Republican business owners. Even running for political office, some former Republicans changed their affiliation in order to garner more voter support.
Hmmm.
Folks, this is a call to arms. Are Yankee fans in Boston fearing for their lives? If they reveal themselves, will they be run out of business, chased from their homes? Do they cheer for the Redsocks rather than reveal the love that has no name?
Are they laughing on the outside, crying on the inside?
