Before this year, the 25-year-old had 1 HR in 19 major-league games, and 56 HR in 573 total games, at all levels, everywhere, or about 1 every 10.2 games.

This year, including the playoffs? 14 HR in 37 games, or one every 2.6 games.

Wow, he's really turned it around. What's everybody think? Contacts? Vitamins? I can't imagine. I'm sure he will now go on to have a great career in which his newfound power never falters and he never has a series of bizarre injuries, parasites, etc.

Wait until the league catches up to him. A 97mph fastball has been a pitch he has proven he can hit. Dusty Baker, a true baseball man, had a classic reaction to the pitch. I would have loved to hear his profanity on that after the off-speed shake-off.
The Rays are still dicks. Now I guess you toss your helmet as you reach 1st base, for your coach to pick up for you, In the 1st inning of a title game. I wish The Mick was alive just to call out this dweeb. There is no more class in this preening world. Class is dismissed.

Yeah, Godot, I noticed that, too: a helmet toss at first, in the first inning. Surprised he didn't then do a touchdown dance around the rest of the bases, while his teammates drenched him in Champagne.

This guy has such a classic juicer's profile that it's not funny. But hey, he'll probably milk it until he can get a big contract, and then go off the stuff.
