Fans of Second Person Narrative Style Question Torre's Use Of Third Person In "The Yankee Years"

As with so many calls to the bullpen in years gone by, some Yankee fans are now questioning Joe Torre's use of the third person narrative style in his new book, The Yankee Years.

According to Wikipedia, "the second-person narrative is a narrative mode in which the protagonist or another main character is referred to by employment of second-person personal pronouns and other kinds of addressing forms, for example the English second-person pronoun ;' you'."

SUNY Brockport English professor and co-chairman of the Second-Person Form Fan Club Arvid Merz blogged that "You really did it this time, didn't you? That was Bush League."

Neither Joe Torre nor Tom Verducci could be reached for comment.

It's a story that needed to be told and a question that Larry King failed to ask.
