YODA #6 - Yankee Manager of the Decade - Are There Any Nominations From the Floor?

On the surface, the Yankee Manager of the Decade Award should be a straightforward choice between Joe Torre's one World Series championship, three AL pennants, eight postseason appearances and dashing good looks, and Joe Giradi's magical 2009 season and his heroic Good Samaritan act that followed.

But life is rarely that simple. Are there other Yankee managers who should be on the ballot? Minor league managers? Former managers who worked with Yankee players during spring training in the aughts? Equipment managers?

You guys and gals are the experts. Nominations, please!

Luis Sojo, who got the Series-winning RBI in 2000, and managed the Yankees' Double-A Norwich Navigators to their first Eastern League Championship in 2002.

How about Buck Showalter for always being available for a Yankee interview?

Sparky Lyle, who manages the Somerset, NJ Patriots and sits naked on birthday cakes.

I think Kei Igawa was an honorary manager for Scranton's final game of the regular season.

I vote for him.

He has been a great Yankee.

The most expensive player ever on a cost per pitch basis in the AL East.

I vote for Kei, even if he hasn't managed. At least he never wrote a book.
