I AM SO FUCKING DISGUSTED...

I was in denial as to just how bad these team was at the end of the season. Really completely incompetent in producing runs the last two months of the season. I hope the Yanks don't look at the season totals and conclude that the team did just fine scoring runs. These guys really sucked and looked really old at the plate, let's face it.

I'd like to think that more time for Murphy, Bird, Refsnyder, Ackley, and Heathcott will take care of some of the age and lack of late season production at C, 1B, 2B, and OF. But if they really want to compete they've got to think about signing or trading for some big bats. There is not one position that is not in need of serious improvement.

They are already claiming offense wasn't the problem because they scored the second most runs ion the league. so they averaged a decent amount of runs per game. However, please let's talk about the median number of runs per game, not the mean. can we do that? or would the Yanks look much less impressive looking at the median?

Just from a marketing perspective they are putting a very boring product on the field. They need to do score more runs more consistently, or they will continue to lose attendance and viewers.

The problem is, not a lot available via free agency. They may just have to hope that the kids produce next year.

maybe we can sell trade our fossils and Joe G. to the Dodgers for Mattingly?

duque! did you get your hair cut yet? My 'stache went into the trash this morning. I'm FREE!!!!!

however, my mustache DID get us into he Selig Bowl. (It just couldn't get us any farther, probably because of something Mustang either did or didn't do.) So here is my plan for the future: I start growing it again on opening day and keep it until the Yanks run is over. If they win the WS, I retain the thing for the winter and following season. Thus a new tradition is born.

This I pledge to do until I die. That's how much I care. :-)

Big glitch 1 or 1A: The bullpen. Total meltdown the final 6 weeks. Too much reliance on two guys when you really need at least 4 and better with 5 or 6.

Yes, the offense was entirely unreliable, except for the occasional three-run homerun or 20-run outburst against the Braves or some such tomato can, but to me, it was the bullpen.

Now, we could talk all night whether Girardi did a crummy job developing new people, or it could have been that everybody sucked after Bettances and Miller and occasionally Wilson. I think a little of each. Joe, like the Joe before him, has no aptitude for bringing people along. Produce now or be gone.

So, while el duque doesn't want to get into a lot of hot stove speculation, I think we can ensure another exciting trip to the Selig Bowl with at least one top-flight starter and a passel of new relievers who actually know how to get people out.

That's should do it.

Bullpen needs help. No doubt. They need to play the kids more and use the tired millionaires as backup.
