Profound.
I will use the words to guide through the rest of my life. Which is right in front of me.
But PAST Yankeedom is so much more interesting than future or present Yankeedom. There is resolution in the past, along with the warm comfort of knowing the outcome. The present has become a recurring nightmare, a Groundhog day of men left on base, bad fielding, pitching gone wild and dumb trade decisions. Why be in the moment when we can have Yogi, Whity, Babe, Jeets, Joe D. and all the others? Especially since the REST of the present, that outside of baseball and which baseball is supposed to be a respite from, suffers from peak suckitude? Why Why Why??? Asking for a friend.
Except the future never arrives as life is just a constant continuation of today's.
That's a problem. It's like, to get from A to B, you have to go half the distance, then half the remaining distance, then half, and half... theoretically, you never get there.
The key is to never do anything halfway. Or half-assed.
