Georgie juices up a Yankee embarrassment

Breaking News: Jorge Posada doesn't feel welcome with the Yankees anymore.

Apparently, his discomfort stems from 2011, Georgie's final days, when he was cut for ex-Dodger Russel Martin and the team's long-term future: Jesus "Ice Cream Sandwich" Montero. You remember 2011. The Death Barge fell to Detroit in a maelstrom of whiffs, though Old Urine Fingers - (he used to famously soak his hands in piss to toughen them) - hit .429 in the divisional series.

Ever since, he's been a growing outlier with the company that put his bronze plaque in Monument Park.

Posada says he has avoided spring training because the Yankees don't want him.

Ten dispirited thoughts...

1. Honestly, I don't have time for this. The coastlines are crashing, the world is exploding, and we're supposed to sweat this?

2. If somebody's feelings are hurt, soak them in piss and carry on.

3. Wasn't there once a rule that teams are supposed to avoid public controversies during the World Series? So who let this one out?

4. Obviously, the Yankees have blown this. There is no excuse - none - for pissing off one of the Core Four. This is why they have interns, to gladhand former stars whose feathers are ruffled.

5. But but BUT... there is something here, because Jorge represents the kind of prickly, peppery, hard-ass personality that the Yankees could use as manager. If he's calling out the Yankees, it's because he won't accept their bullshit. Good for him. I only wish they listened.

6. It's now 30 years since 1996, when the Yankees won their first championship under Joe Torre.

7. Thirty years.

8. That's not a typo. Thirty fucking years.

9. That this has gone public should prompt Hal to apologize, and somebody should be flogged, but nothing will happen, because that's the modern, dead-eyed Yankees.

10. The Mets will invite him to camp, or maybe Boston. (Of course, there will be no camps, due to the lockout.) Or if they lose, maybe even Tampa. Either way, there are always teams out there who are delighted to carve off a piece of what was once a great Yankee legacy, and which shrinks further into the abyss every year.

Thirty years.

I was shocked and appalled by how Girardi treated Jorge in 2011. It's a big reason why I disliked Girardi as manager. He was just a dick, and Posada was still a better catcher than Martin.

Jorge is being nice by not naming names. Because he could, and he'd be right.

Yeah, Girardi was rather a dick—though an infinitely better manager than Boone.

Also, Posada should be in the Hall. Throughout his career, he was at times the best catcher in the AL—and almost always the second best. And the best—I-Rod—was juicing.

It will only be a week or two more when The Rocket comes forward to claim that the front office forced him to juice against his will.

(Even though all of us here knew that it might have been Cashman, err…uh….Calling the Shots.

My new motto to live by: "If somebody's feelings are hurt, soak them in piss and carry on.'

How will you inventory and then spontaneously have enough piss at the ready to soak someone with hurt feelings? Urine for some trouble if the need arises and you're, uh.....like you know – caught with your pants down.

Brewers hit solo homers and lost. Serves them right. Get back to where you once belonged.

I guess it was not a shock that the Tampons would win last nite. They were due. If the Brew Crew was invincible, they would have gone 162-0 for the regular season. Still, the Brewers probably should've won. Better close it out tonite.

Always piss into a large plastic bottle. Store in refrigerator. I'd advise labeling the bottle, just so nobody drinks it thinking it's Gatorade.

The Brewers must be pissed off, to keep in the spirit of the comments here.

Jorge's Timing

I read that Brad Ausmus the Yankee Bench Coach is up for the Astros Manager job. Not sure what he did for us since Boone is always standing by himself shoveling handfuls of seeds into his mouth and picking his nose.

I miss Zim. There was a bench coach.

Gotta figure the Yankees "fire" Asmus or let him go. Jorge would be a great bench coach and presence in the club house. He'd be the enforcer they desperately need.

Notice how the G-Men have responded to a coach that demands accountability.

Guessing Jorge officered himself for the job and was told no and it pissed him off.

Shelly Duncan

If the Yankees need a new bench coach I've seen it mentioned that 2025 AAA Minor League Manager of the Year Shelly Duncan would be a good choice. I totally agree. Not only was he the manager for our up and coming core but he could be right there to slide over if Boone chokes -- not in a game situation - he keeps surviving those. I'm talking about on a seed.

Crap. Did it again. Tried to fix the Yankees. Can't help it.

Tired all of a sudden. Just need to clean up this mess and...zzzzzz.

Can’t see an enforcer being brought in to bench coach with Seedy - although I would certainly welcome one. If Brad leaves they should just replace him with a robotic humanoid and be done with all this subterfuge.

Sigh….it does feel like the sky is falling, in so many ways…. I’m old enough to remember when Posada was the scrappy youngster and now he’s the voice of an older generation.
