Christmas Eve Brain Teaser

Q: What do you call a guy who:

    • Has a fragile psyche,

    • Cannot hold runners,

    • Cannot throw to first,

    • Cannot be brought into a game without a replacement warming in the pen, and

    • Takes the #7 train to work?

A: Click here for the answer!

Merry Christmas, Happy Hanukkah.

Shame to see it happen, though. I would have taken a flyer on him, and seen what he might have. If the pen was too full, THEN you could trade somebody.

With the price what it is, it's a good deal for the Metsies. But they'd be foolish to think their bullpen problems are over.

I don't know if any particular person (out of the 7.6 billion or so) on this planet is "Happy."

However, I guess that DB won't be happy in a NY Mets uniform. I guess Granderson was, but he managed to piss in the pool (and - to my surprise - demonstrate a surprising lack of intelligence, class, and perspicacity) on leaving the Yankees, claiming the Mets were NYC's team.

Incidentally, I've done a bit of traveling. In South Africa this past summer (winter there), I was wearing a NYY baseball cap to lunch. The young waiter smiled bigly upon seeing that -- we engaged in a short conversation -- and he said "no South African boy can be happy without at least one NY Yankees cap!"

I've never seen a NY Mets cap on a not-Queensite, and that includes various airports, cities in mainland Italy and Sicily, England -- and Botswana, Namibia, Zimbabwe and South Africa.

I have seen many NYY caps, tho.

My conclusion: Nothing good can come out of Queens. That includes DJT. Includes a lot I can cite here -- including the 7 train.

The only exception I know of is Christopher Walken.

There were Yankees caps in Zurich. No Met. No Red Sox.

Red Socks suck, the goat blowing assholes.

He is and will never be a post season reliever for all the points mentioned in the post. No reason to cry over this one.

Perfect.

Pretty harsh on goats there, Tom.

Yeah, I like goats. Couldn't we say "the Randy-Rimming Ratfuckers" instead?

Also, I was worn out on Betances, also, but I don't like this move. He might still find his stuff again. Ramdy Levine was such a dick to him that there was no way he'd have stayed., but he was our home-grown dude and he might have come back. Where is the love, people?

I'm pretty glad that Dellin is gone. He certainly was a nice guy, and every so often looked like the best reliever in baseball. But one too many crazy innings soured me on him. I'm talking about the three wild pitches, five stolen bases, one hit batter, four walks, four runs, no hits, three strikeouts, all that in one never ending half inning with 45 pitches. I don't think it was a good signing by the Mets. They will regret it by July, for sure.
