Today, beloved MLB Commissioner Rob Manfred will take questions from the independent sports media. Here are 10 that I would ask...

First, Mr. Manfred, I want to thank you - sir - for letting a lowly fan blogger attend this revered, august event. For many years, the scions of baseball have ignored the importance of - huh...? Wha...? What's my question? Don't I get to...? No...? "Shut up and talk?" Okay, well, here goes...

1. Can you name me one team owner - just one - who is not a multi-billionaire?

2. Do you think billionaires live in the same America that the rest of us do? Do they ever sit in the cold bleachers for four hours, spend half a weekly paycheck on a beer and nachos, while a stream of batters strikes out, draws walks or produces an occasional home run?

4. Why are you gaslighting America by calling this a labor dispute, when it's a lockout?

5. How is it that team payrolls have generally stagnated in recent years, while revenues have soared?

5. How is it that, for most of the last 10 years, there were no payroll salary caps in place... yet the owners acted as if there are?

6. Why should fans give a damn about baseball, if those who run the game do not?

7. Do you think baseball will make inroads with young people by delaying or canceling the 2022 season?

8. Considering that MLB has gone to bed with sports books, how long do you think it will be before the first major gambling scandal?

9. How much do you think fans would pay to watch Hal Steinbrenner pitch to Steve Cohen?

10. You make $11 million per year, practically a million a month. What the fuck have you been doing for the last 70 days, since the lockout began? That's $2 million you got paid for noth-AGUGH! I'm not finished... Gimme back that mic... WHO ARE YOU WORKING FOR? WHO ARE YOU WORKING FOR? I got-OOOF. Call off your goons, I got...

What's your shoe size, and what's your favorite color?
If you were a twee, what kind of twee would you be?
Are you or have you ever been a member of the Communist Party?
What's the capital of Delaware?
Can you dance the ha-cha-cha?
Assholes say what?
Have you ever eaten the yellow snow?
Why do men on Scandinavian TV dramas often piss outdoors?
Why do Asian drivers have such a bad rep?
Are you aware that pierogi is already plural and adding an 's' is stupid?
Have you ever said the redundant phrase "pizza pie"?
How much wood could a woodchuck chuck?
Why should we believe anything you say?

That's a ridiculous question.

A woodchuck would chuck all the wood a woodchuck could chuck, if a woodchuck could chuck wood.

Question 8 blew my mind!

Seriously, good call. That is totally going to happen.

How about a syndicate of bettors, or a "friend" of the ballplayer all betting on a strikeout that is "provided" by the batter on demand.

Doesn't "really" effect the outcome. K's are common. Hard to trace.

Once or twice a week. Lot of money there.

Hey! Maybe Sanchez has been on the take for years. Nah! Couldn't be. He doesn't know how to take. Only swing away.

Nice post. But I am so over this that I barely have the energy to type this which is actually about nothing at all, just type for people to read. Much like any current MLB-related story.

Like my Dad used to say; "Wake me when the war is over."

To be fair, let's take a poll of how many on this blog are also billionaires.

Sadly, I am not among them.

Next?

This latest mince about the poor owners taking a risk owning a MLB team and it being a worse bet than investing in the stock market really is taking the piss
My heart bleeds for them perhaps I should set up a gofund me page for them?

Surprised none of the journalists pulled him up over this blatant lie bit it seems sadly to be the case in modern life that those is power cam just constantly lie and get away with it with no shame or payback

Lemme see, Alphonso, just checking the stocks, the bonds, the property, the bank account, the jewels, and I find that...I am just $999,980,000 short. Damn! Almost!

All good questions, Duque.

Very funny, Doug K., and a very good point on the betting. It's much like cryptocurrency: 'Hey, a semi-secret, alternative currency that nobody quite understands how it works. What could POSSIBLY go wrong?'

And Scotland, you hit the nail on the head. WTF are what Ted Williams called the Knights of the Press Box? Why AREN'T they asking the hard questions?

Oh, right, that might screw up their access to Brian Cashman...

I hadn't thought of that, cabish47. I don't know...dogs pissing on the lawn leave burned-out spots. Is human urine just as destructive? I've never been sure, so I've always avoided pissing in the potted plants when my wife has the bathroom tied up.
