When I reported to college (Binghamton State) in Sept 1970, as a freshman, there was construction ongoing near our dorm complex. There was a temp wooden wall, maybe 7-9 feet high, separating the living dope fiends from the active site.
On the wall, painted before we showed up (I guess), was a notice -- in big letters -- "XXXXX blows dead bears."
XXXXX was a dorm monitor -- a grad student who (I think) got a free place to live in exchange for keeping an eye on the shenanigans that typically went on . . . keeping a lit on it, so to speak.
I never met XXXXX. I heard he was no great prize, however.
Since encountering that sign -- 55 years ago! -- I have taken to muttering to myself "(this, whatever it is) blows dead bears."
When our own dear, beloved assholes lose at Shea...I mean Citifield...they should be forced to ride the 7 train home, wearing tutus and kiddie backpacks with their gear in them. WAKE UP, SHITHEADS! No motivation in this bunch of bloated salary men.
The CBS teams were forced to play in what was still the age of the reserve clause. It took a lot of time to rebuild a club. Now? It's more the lack of brains.
This is the first time in a quarter century that the Yankees have had 2 six-game losing streaks. It last happened in 2000 when they lost 13 of their last 16.

Well, you know what they say, better down three in the third than down three in the ninth. Or something.

Just think ..... four more one-run homers and Boone can get Leiter in to blow the lead!

May I say in all sincerity and from the very bottom of my heart: This treat sucks!

So interesting, as a side note. that CBS bought the Yankees in 64 AND they bought Fender Guitars in 65 and almost ruined them.
