The Yankees have to do something about Spencer Jones

He is hurting the players at Triple A.

Two home runs and a double today for Scranton.

Not to worry. Ca$hole will trade him shortly for some magic beans and a reliever that will immediately require Tommy John surgery. 🚑

The question is: does his performance make it more likely or less likely that he gets moved at the deadline? I say less likely since Cashman’s ask in return is going 🆙🆙🆙📈

Man I would hope so.

OK, I am writing this without knowing what The Brain's people are saying about Jones. The Yankees will not come up with what Grisham will want in the off-season, probably likewise regarding Bellinger. The Royals have, probably the worst hitting outfield in baseball but have some good arms who they might consider trading. The Brain should consider trading Grisham for pitching, bring Jones up as the fourth outfielder. They would have a nice chance to get younger, more athletic, and cheaper. And cheaper, cheaper... By all accounts Jones is a legitimate centerfielder and a good base runner. Again, a perfect fourth outfielder who might become a star.
Btw, I am pissed that The Brain passed on David Robertson. He signed with the Phillies for what amounts to six million. Cheap bastards.

Hal has to be able to afford to pay for all those condoms, doesn’t he?

Where would the Yankees play him? They presently have a packed outfield.

Trade Grisham for pitching help, package deal, then use Jones as the fourth outfielder, effectively replacing Grisham while giving some insight into how the off-season might play out. Remember Grisham will be looking for his breakout season to really pay, and Bellinger will also wants to get paid. Hal isn't going to pay for all of that. If Jones has a promising debut the savings from Grisham should help us sign a good third.baseman.

Bleeeding Yankee Blue points out that if we kept Caleb Durbin, our infield would be fine. And we didn't need Devan, anyway.

Cashman. Genius.

I stare at Jones' strikeout rate and wonder if he'll be able to hit MLB pitching. If I were the Yankees, I'd have Jones do batting practice with a couple of their best hitters - somewhere quiet and out of the limelight. If he crushes it, bring him up.

The worst outcome would be for Jones to fail in public against MLB pitching. Not only will he prove he's not ready for the Show, he'll also lose significant trade value.

Better to test him in private and make a decision afterwards whether to bring him up, let him ripen on the vine or move him before his value craters.

Why don't they play him out of position!? ISN'T THAT THE YANKEE WAY!!???
