As the finish line nears, the Yankees are stumbling

This is the end.
My only friend, the end...

Suddenly, the Death Star doesn't look so fully functioning.

Edwin Encarnacion is still healing.

James Paxton will be coming off a start with a twitchy groin.

Luis Severino will be coming off a troubling start, where he barely escaped the first inning.

Luke Voit is one for his last 33 and having a nervous breakdown.

Luis Cessa last night walked in a run with the bases loaded.

Didi Gregorius is still slumping.

If he plays today, Gary Sanchez will have returned with two games under his belt.

Giancarlo Stanton still doesn't play full games.

The Yankees have lost three out of their last four.

But all that matters today - the only thing in the Yankiverse that matters today - is that nobody tweaks nothing. That's all. No brawls. No bean balls. No diving, no collisions, no headfirst slides, no fouls off the heel. Tune up the bullpen. Give DJ a shot at the batting crown. Give Luke a chance to end the slump (but he won't, not in this state of mind.) Play the scrubs. Get home tonight. Sleep in your own beds. This is the end. Tomorrow begins the beginning.

To MLB as a whole and the Yankees, in particular: I NO LONGER CARE ABOUT HOME RUN RECORDS.

To MLB: FIX the game. This endless tinkering with rules, balls and calls is destroying something that had evolved nicely and was not broken.

To BoSox fans: Eat shit.

A win today matters to me. If they win # 104 then my pre-season prediction is right on the mark!

Irrational exuberance, Carl!!!

These double steals have been happening every time there's two on. How come they can't do anything about it?

I have the radio on. Buck is terrible and he makes Kay even worse.

Sanchez is throwing the ball away and Kahnle has sucked for many moons now. And nobody hits. And Tanaka is not a bullpen pitcher.

Boone is an idiot. Larry is hopeless. Cashman is full of horseshit statistics. Hal sucks.

We're doomed.

I'm looking for a silver lining from the last few games. Can't find one.

Help!

Buck is awful. I hope the Cubs sign him for next year.

Silver lining:

We don't root for the carmine hose with their racist townie asshole fans.

And Buck on his worst day is infinitely better than asshole remy.

I'll take it, RTF. I'll take anything 'cause I'm not enjoying a minute of this ugliness

Crawling into the post-season with a limp dick. I'm not going to put this on Stanton, but he's just a big sack of kryptonite. Everybody is suddenly useless and lost. If they want to prove anything, they have set themselves up for it. It's "wake up or go home" time. We'll see what these morons are made of now.

If they don't advance, everybody from Cashman on down should go. Am I being extreme? I don't think so. It has been a long time since we have won and we fucked up a lot of good opportunities this year. If we advance to the next round, prepare to see Brian, Boner, Nutsack and the whole putrid crew, controlling our destiny for the next two decades. It's a win-win, really, when you think about it.

Time to go incinerate some telephone poles.

Platoni,

Here's something else to take some of the sting away:

The Carmine's left their pitcher in for 115 pitches in hopes he would get win # 20.

He left with a one run lead, that they got after he hit 115 pitches. I think they would have put him out for another inning if they didn't get the lead.

The BP promptly surrendered the tying run.

Today’s highlights for me:

Mad Bum’s (possibly final) sole at-bat in the Giant’s game. (As much as I feel he is the soul of the Giants – just as I feel Gardy is the soul of the Yankees – I would not mind seeing him in pinstripes next season. Both of them, in fact!)

Bruce Bochy’s emotional sendoff.

Dominic Smith’s bottom-of-the-11th 3-run walk-off homer to win 7-6 over the Braves.

The Rockies’ walk-off win in the 13th from a throwing error.

Did I miss anything in Texas?

Hey, I liked having Buck in there. It felt like getting an education in the game to listen to him. I find myself wishing they would hire him to be the GM. But, never gonna happen...

Stumbling? They are flat on their faces. Stanton has had the expected effect. Home run or Strike out

Twins in 4. Severino 6+ ERA in the post season when he was healthy. Paxton, do really trust him in a big game? Ottavino, Green & Kahle again do you trust these guys? Tanaka is the only guy I think can win. We'll score some runs, but Sanchez, Judge and Stanton will strike out at least twice in each game, but hey we won the division. Everyone should get a trophy and HOF Brian Cashman should get a lifetime achievement award for mediocrity.
