All Or ( More Likely ) Nothing....

So the bullpen had a melt down.  A perfect storm of a melt down. And the Yankee blew a 6-4 ninth inning lead and lost to the KC Royal family.

So the reaction of the Yankee brass?

Trade ( but do not consider using ) one of our top pitching prospects for another " veteran."

The team is proving the that Cashman and Boone do not trust a single player in our farm system.  We don't bring up Florial or Andujar, but we give away multiple 22 and 23 year old "prospects"  for Benitendi.

We keep Gallo as insurance. Not give a moments thought to one of our two .300 hitters in Scranton.

I am just saying this;  the Cashman/Boone protocol has always been to over-hype our in house talent;  give the league a game or two to see them live ( or pay some former scout to compare a prospect to Mike Trout,) and then  trade them for " veterans.

We trade for guys who have proven themselves like Gallo; Donaldson, and now Benitendi and this 29 year old Cub reliever.( Editors note;  we got Carpenter for nothing).

So when all is said and done, the Yankees either win it all this year or revert to an aging, expensive team which has already proven, despite all the tweaking, that they are not good enough.

To, once again, have baseball's least talented minor league system.

And muddle on forever with Cashman and Boone.

Losing and making excuses. " I thought he had really good stuff, actually.  He just missed with one or two pitches.")

Personally, I think this team has no chance. There is no one young and full of energy and spirit.

Alphonso, if only poor shleps like us knew how to play 4-D chess, we might understand, but I will defer to the past 20 years of excellence and winning.

I have been saying the whole season that we're not that great and I have clearly been wrong.

I come not to bury Cashman, but to praise him.

I can of mine own self do nothing.

Yogi est veritas and prevaelat.

Boy oh Boy -

Gallo again is not in today's starting lineup.

Cashman continues to TEASE us.

No worries though, Donaldson batting 5th to fulfill all your strikeout needs.

Wow - all of my strikeout needs?

So far all these pitching trades seem like minor plugging of leaks--almost sideways moves, not major steps forward. According to MLB.com, Montas "has been battling shoulder injuries this season." Cashman--the designated dupe among MLB GMs.
