How about having the two top teams from the Cactus and Grapefruit leagues play a Spring Championship Game, which will determine home field advantage for the All-Star Game?

Hey John and KD, we need to talk.

I'm getting ready to leave the country for a few days, and it's going to coincide with the opening of the season, and I'm looking for pinch hitters. Actually, star hitters, just to carry us for a week. Would you guys be willing to pick up a bat?

But for you, Duque, I would pick up a bat, stare at 3 strikes (or maybe take a late swing at something in the dirt), then slink back to the dugout.
