Kaprielian out until 2019

He has chosen Tommy John surgery.

He'll be out for - what? - 16 months? He's young enough to heal quickly, maybe throw a few innings at the end of 2018. He'll probably pitch in winter ball of 2018-19 and come to Tampa that spring at age 25.

Not too old to have a decent career. But he goes from being the Yankees' top pitching prospect to another guy who'll have to prove himself on the Trenton roster.

I'm starting to wonder if it's ever worthwhile to draft a pitcher in the first round?

Let the players take HGH already.
