Chapman needs to come in with a clean inning! Well he just needs only one out but still, this does not bode well.

Donaldson continues to stink the joint out.

I like IKF. And I've called him Ralph Kiner-Falafel since he got here. How could you not?

Doug K. said...

so who closes this out?

JM said...

Dental floss.

Beauregard Jackson Pickett Burnside said...

Haven’t called him that because Ralph Kiner hit his last baseball 20+ years before I was born. Might as well be Ralph Kramden Falelfa… cuz he hit that ball to the moon Suzyn!

Beauregard Jackson Pickett Burnside said...

My god they’re going to lose again! WTF!

Even though most of us (YOU know who we are) have been Chicken Littles watching egg frittatas falling out of the NY skies - I have to say that - WAIT FOR IT NOW - IT SURE FEELS GREAT TO GET A WIN!!!!!

So, good. Go, Floss! No—I mean it. It's bedtime. Go floss.

Hey, nice win. I give Montas his props; he wobbled but he didn't fall down. I give the bullpen, a.k.a., The Cardiac Corps, their props.

I even give Ma Boone his props for a two-out bunt in the 9th.

And...Falafel gets it done! Ralph would be proud.

Incidentally, Beauregard, not only was Kiner a long, long time announce for the Mets after his playing days, but back in the day, he used to date Elizabeth Taylor. I think he almost became a Yankee somehow, which would've been cool.

I see it’s anybody turn to be a closer now. Props to IKF - loved the bunt.

How to record a win that feels like a loss: knowing that in order to beat--BARELY beat--the lowly Red Sox, you need a two-run homer from IKF, an event about on the same order of probability as winning Powerball. That tells you that your season is over.

Hoss,

I bet the Boonester will be reprimanded for the bunt call (if he actually called it).
