Especially if it was a naked mud wrestling match

My god, this blog has drooped down to new lows… almost as low as Sterling and Uecker drooped in a naked mud wrestling match…. So… droopy.

Beauregard Jackson Pickett Burnside said...

Jesus John, Uecker knows where to read the balls and strikes. Round 1 to Uecker.

OMFG MR BELEVEDERE JUST TAGGED IN FOR UECKER! AND HE’S MUDDY TOO!

AboveAverage said...

Whatever you gents do - never EVER spell mud backwards.

AboveAverage said...

who is in the booth with KAY-TODAY?

JM said...

Ralph. And Marwin?!??

TheWinWarblist said...

I'm listening to Ueker and that other dude.

JM said...

Is Uek guesting on the radio side?

TheWinWarblist said...

Uek is doing nearly all the talking. It's play by play, but he's really the only one talking. Uek is also doing what little color on that broadcast.

JM said...

Montas is a schmuck.

JM said...

I'd rather have Montgomery.

JM said...

Goofball can't throw strikes.

JM said...

Another great Cashman trade.

TheWinWarblist said...

You know, if These Our 2022 New York Yankees get to play clown-cars masquerading as baseball teams like the Red Sux and Brewers during the playoffs, they could go deep into October. I don't think they could win a World Series, but they might win a series or two.

TheWinWarblist said...

Uek is bitching and moaning about the "cheap hits" the Yanks are getting. "It's still early." Platitude platitude platitude. Tough to listen to.

Doug K. said...

It's amazing how marginal/bad Montas is. That we gave up Sears and Waldichuck for this guy is just criminal

Pocono Steve said...

Shit.

Doug K. said...

As soon as Sevi comes back (next week) Montas needs to go on the 10 day IL with what ever they can invent for him. Shoulder stiffness, whatever.

Joe of AZ said...

God we gave that bitch Montas a 5 spot and he still can't winn

TheWinWarblist said...

Well, CashBrain had to get another major starter after he traded Montgomery for a bucket of Double Bubble. Throw prospects away on a problem you created yourself.

I really think CashBrain is a genius, but a sniveling toady, and Hal is making him intentionally throw away every season. To get back at his father for something. C'mon, Hal can't be mentally whole after being raised by Mad King George. He has got to be a tormented fuckface. The losing may be some sort of shitty self-help plan by Hal.

Fuck [conforming to accepted standards].

DickAllen said...

Nelson ought to be doing color in Kansas City. What a dullard.

TheWinWarblist said...

This is not the work of incompetence. This is the work of malevolence. This is intentional. Hal hates the Yankees the way his father loved and obsessed over them. (King George's love was not a healthy one, I posit.) Hal wants to squeeze every possible cent of income from the franchise, as long as the Yankees never hang another banner.

Conspiratorial fucking gods be damned fucking fuck fuck fuck.

Hinkey Haines said...

Is Stanton wearing 21 tonight? Doesn’t he usually wear 27?

Oh. And Montas sucks.

BTR999 said...

What the -

It was 5-zip when I left and Montas couldn’t hold it, huh? Imagine him in their playoffs?
He won’t last 2 innings.

Toronto won, TB lost.

DickAllen said...

Cabrera is now at first base - for the first time in his life

Doug K. said...

So in a tie game he brings Andujar to play left and moves Caberra to 1B (a position he's never played and he's a smaller man.)

WTF?

Doug K. said...

Hinkey - tribute to Clemente. Optional. Stanton and I think Trevino are doing it.

Doug K. said...

This feels like a loss.

DickAllen said...

Does anyone know how much of the gate the visiting team gets?

Hinkey Haines said...

Thanks, Doug.

Whatever number he wears, he still sucks.

TheWinWarblist said...

Higgy is also wearing 21. It's a way for players of lesser stature to shit all over the memory of a great player and individual.

DickAllen said...

This game is almost as dull as spending a weekend in Milwaukee.

BTR999 said...

Dick, used to be that the visiting team would get a percentage of the gate revenues, but when revenue-sharing was put in place starting in 1997, that ended. So... There is no longer a gate split in Major League Baseball. Meaning, a team like the Yankees makes more than almost any ream based on attendance and average ticket price. They also have one of the highest revenue streams from concessions.

DickAllen said...

So, how did the Yankees come out in that deal? I’m sure attendance in every ballpark the Yankees visit increases significantly (Except maybe Tampa), but they don’t have to pay out at home. And then they give up luxury tax money. Is that a financial win or loss to Harold?

DickAllen said...

Tough play mon cul.

BTR999 said...

I’d say the Yankees still come out ahead. The luxury tax is obviously a loss for them, but not as bad as they make it sound. Teams don’t release exact figures on the amount of revenue they get from ticket sales + concessions, but one website pegged it as about 8.4M for a full house at YS. Multiply by 81 and that’s 680M. The actual figure is lower since not every game is a sellout. But that # does not even include TV / Radio., and the mystery money they now receive from legalized gambling. Add it all up and the Yankees are one of the most profitable and valuable sports franchises in the world, perhaps THE most…all of Steinbrenner’s whining about payrolls, luxury taxes, and bondholders is just posturing.

HoraceClarke66 said...

Awful play. I was watching that game in a bar, and saw Yanks blow the lead. I had absolutely zero hope they could win it.

Anyone know why Boone went with the quick hook on Montas? Yes, I hate the guy, too. But just suck it up and take a loss from your putrid starter. No reason to throw ANOTHER starter into that shit show.

So Boone ends up exhausting the infield, all in a highly predictable loss. Great.

HoraceClarke66 said...

The fielding is just awful. Donaldson should have had that "single" hit through him, back when the Brewers scored two runs. Of course, NO damage would have been done if Cabrera could have caught a routine flyball. And now IKF. It's really disgraceful.

But here's the bottom line: Giancarlo Stanton is the most useless piece of shit I have ever seen in a baseball uniform.

Even Aaron Hicks came within inches of hitting a home run tonight. Stanton came within inches of adjusting his jock correctly. He is utterly worthless.

HoraceClarke66 said...

Sorry, meant to say, Boone ends up exhausting the bullpen. The infield, you could take out and shoot after tonight's game.

DickAllen said...

Oh, come on Horace! Giancarlo is bad, but he’s no Joey Gallo.

DickAllen said...

Does anyone know how to bunt anymore?!?!?

BTR999 said...

We still need a closer.

DickAllen said...

Inevitable

DickAllen said...

Holmes was flat out terrible

BTR999 said...

A winnable game flushed away by all the holes on this team.
How cab we seriously go into the postseason with no closer?

AboveAverage said...

P. O. O. P.

Joe of AZ said...

I'd this is how the games next year are gonna be with this "balanced" shit....imma just snooze till.the playoffs....there is absolutely NO buzz to games like this

Kevin said...

WTF has happened to our shortstop? We are doomed if he starts in the playoffs. I've been paying some attention to Severino's pitch counts. Even though he stated that he was good to go a month ago they don't want to push him passed sixty pitches. Is this the New theory on building endurance? Pitch less until more is needed in the playoffs? They need to find out NOW what they have so that German can stay stretched out. IMO this is symptomatic of a organizational disease, CYA. BTW, shouldn't Peraza start some games at SS and see what happens? Maybe the lad comes out smokin and pushes IFK. Or do they have a psychology department weighing in on personnel decisions? I'm glad I missed the game, I may have given the television the Elvis Treatment...

I'm just glad I went to bed early. What a shitshow.
