Yanks Have Easy Time Faking Trade Results

It had to have been the plan, all along.

Cashman can trade seven ( was it seven?) prospects for excess baggage of other teams, and claim victory.  Worse, the " Citizens United " press who cover the Yankees will do it for him?

Why so easy?

None of the Yankee prospects are on a major league roster.  Not yet.  We won't see any of them until the September call-ups, and that doesn't count for much either.  By the time five of our traded prospects are all stars, the entire Yankee roster will have been re-made, wars will have broken out in three countries, and Trump will be in an old folks home drawing in the sand.

In short;  we will have forgotten about them.

Meanwhile, we have performances to measure.  We can say;  Todd Frazier hit a solo homer last night; Sonny Gray only gave up two runs in 6 innings, and David roberson is no worse than Tyler Clippard.

But try comparing them to Mateo, Fowler, Enns, Kaprilien, and the others I can't name.  You can't.  No one can.

So the yankees won the trades because we have guys on the field.

Just to summarize the impact of the horde we accumulated:

1.  The trade deadline ended July 31. 2017 at 4pm.
2.  Trades became official at that time.
3.  August 1,2017, therefore, is the starting point from which results can be measured.
4.  Todd Frazier is hitting .205 and is 2-20 in his last hot streak.
5.  The Yankees have not won a single game.
6.  We are averaging 1 run per game on offense.
7.  We had three errors in one inning when Sonny Gray pitched.
8.  The Garcia guy throws about 80 mph and didn't last five innings before the game was out of hand.
9.  The impact on the young Yankee team has been devastating.
10.  The team is boring and unimaginative.
11.  Girardi has stopped managing, if he ever did.
12.  Cashman is signing his new contract, and putting his bonus check in the bank.

Have a nice day at the beach. Our season is over.  The youth movement was a fake.

WE CAN'T HIT.

WE CAN'T HIT IN THE CLUTCH. (EXCEPT MAYBE FOR CLINT AND TOE).

YOU'RE RIGHT ABOUT GIRARDI NOT MANAGING THE TEAM ANYMORE.

EXCEPT MAYBE GIVING A GREEN LIGHT TO MOST EVERYONE ON A 3 - 0 COUNT.

THAT'S HIS BIG OFFENSIVE "GO-TO" MOVE.

At age 36 Holliday's key stats were 246/322/461.
At age 37 they are 229/319/430.
We shouldn't be surprised.
Hey, anonymous, I got those stats from Baseball Reference, saved as a Favorite on my laptop. Also see my response to your Garcia comment in an earlier post. Don't spout off without first checking the sources you cite!
I've been wrong many times, like about Carter and Gamel, but at least I'm willing to admit it.

Not referring to you ALL CAPS anonymous.

I MISS MARIANO.... WE HAD TO SWEAT ANOTHER ONE OUT.

CHAPMAN HAS ME SWEATING LIKE HE DOES.

THOSE 2 NEAR HOME RUNS ALMOST MADE ME COLLAPSE ON MY GLASS COFFEE TABLE...TWICE.

"CAP-I-TAL VIEWS"---
1.) WE STILL DON'T HIT.
2.) IT IS NOT GOOD TO BE A HOME RUN OR NOTHING TEAM.
3.) WE STILL DON'T HIT IN THE CLUTCH.
4.) GARY SANCHEZ IS A MESS RIGHT NOW. (DEFENSE AND OFFENSE)
5.) WE ARE GOING TO DL HOLLIDAY ...(GOOD, HE IS KILLING US).
6.) WE NEED A LEFTY BAT BADLY...HOW ABOUT JAKE CAVE?
7.) AARON JUDGE IS GOING TO BE OK.

Joe de pastry--I think your brain is made of wet pastry dough. You're NOT right about Jaime--he's been a league-average pitcher every year except 2015. You're a dullard. End of story. Good night.

Hey joe de pastry brain--ERA is not the definitive stat for judging a pitcher's worth--unless you're stuck in the year 1964. Look at Garcia's WAR--it's been averaging less than 1 every year except 2008 and 2010--in many of those years barely above 1. That's a more evolved metric for judging a pitcher's overall worth--and in this case his worth is barely above that of a replacement player. So buzz off until you get a baseball education and stop bugging us with your doofus act.

Is it true that in the history of baseball, no team has ever won a World Series with someone named Sonny on the roster?

Hey, anonymous, [not ALL CAPS] can we stop fighting?
You disagree with me about Garcia and probably other things.
OK, maybe you're right. Maybe I'm right.
But please stop insulting my intelligence and knowledge of baseball; I've been watching it and studying it for 65 years. I was reading Bill James before Billy Beane ever heard of him.
We interpret facts differently; I think ERA+ is more significant than you do.
You think WAR for pitchers is more important than I do.
Fine.
But if you want to continue with the name calling and insults how about coming up with a name to distinguish yourself from other anonymous commenters, so responses can be unambiguously directed to you.
How about "Smarter than everybody else?"
BTW, Hal Morris' career OPS+ was 111. Not much for a first baseman. His 12 season WAR was only 13.3, or 1.1 per year. But better than Tim Leary's 13 year WAR of 12.2.
