Tonight’s Yankees rays game is the MLB.TV free game of the day. I wouldn’t pay two cents for this shit either.

Double off the catwalk. I've got nothing to add.

TheWinWarblist said...

Down goes Frazier! Down goes Frazier!

Statcast had that pitch on the black.

HoraceClarke66 said...

Yep. So did the Yankees broadcast. I find The Red Menace trying to play these days to be physically painful.

Clint's done as a Yankee. May thrive elsewhere. But it's over in pinstripes.

Joe Formerlyof Brooklyn said...

I'm sorry Clint ain't got it. Don't you really, really wish he was as good as the hype?

Or maybe even half as good...

You trade Andrew Miller to get this guy and then bury him. What a shame. If I were him, I’d be plenty pissed. They are absolutely wrecking this kid. And by not giving him a regular shot, they’re also effectively killing his trade value. It’s become a lose-lose situation.

5 innings of futility ...

Rufus T. Firefly said...

The destruction of the Red Menace has been a deliberate hit job by the brainless trust of the evil-in-this-case empire.

Pocono Steve said...

I'm genuinely interested to find out how they're going to turn second and third with no one out into zero runs this time.

JM said...

That was a big sac fly.

Platoni said...

It's either shit play or shit luck against this fun-sucking, black hole of a team. What a drab place this fucking "stadium" is

Rufus T. Firefly said...

Pocono Steve: They didn't by means of a horrible misplay by a DEVIL ray.

Anonymous said...

I thought he was Red Thunder, and that the Red Menace was Lucy Riccardo.

Maybe he needs to learn how to Unleash the Lucy!

Rufus T. Firefly said...

Platoni, Here's hoping they get half their games in an even WORSE stadium. Olympic in Montreal. The good news is good cheap seat can be had there!

News from another universe: Kaprelian, a pitcher, is flinging for the Athletics tonight against the RedSox. So far, 5 innings, 1 run.

This guy was Yankee property for a while. He was sent over to OAK in exchange for Sonny Gray....along with Fowler.

Rufus T. Firefly said...

Anyone hear what the red-headed stepchild said to the ump? Like "your mother weras combat boots"?

I don't lip read so well after the accident...

Rufus T. Firefly said...

This is my favorite Kaprielian:

Jesus Christ, Rufus... don’t tell me you live in NH? What is more boring, recent Yankees games or Candlepin Stars and Strikes?

Rufus T. Firefly said...

You don't know Al, do you?

A veritable legend.

Gone for a while, but 'the' most accurate forecast when he was on. And the geek, grade school science teacher shtick was hilarious.

And I have several places I call home, just so you can't find me when I don't want to be found. I am also a fan of Freddie Friehofer. Wanna make sumptin uv it, wise guy?

Parson Tom said...

Trot Chapman out against the Rays and other chief rivals game after game all season long and then wonder why he gets beat by those same teams in the playoffs. Sheesh

TheWinWarblist said...

They can't hit but they are pitching! A 1-0 win! A 1-0 win!

Aaaaahh!! Thhh-uhuhuhuhub-UH-UH-UH YANKEES WIN!!

Aaaaahh!! Thhh-uhuhuhuhub-UH-UH-UH YANKEES WIN!!

Rufus T. Firefly said...

Beau, Candlepints?

You must have confused Al with this guy: https://www.bostonherald.com/2014/05/28/ex-sportscaster-bob-gamere-out-of-prison-after-child-porn-conviction/

An admitted carmine hose fan, and not just on little kiddies feet.

Rufus T. Firefly said...

...and the yankee offense is, well, offensive. and not in a good way.

TheWinWarblist said...

I'm so glad this is happening again.

But this Yankee team sucks. Still and ever and always with the true deep sucking.

Beauregard Jackson Pickett Burnside said...

No confusion! Stars and Strikes was another long running show on the WNDS of New England.

Parson Tom said...

former Yankee voice, Bob Gamere. A weak imitation of Frank Messer

JM said...

Rufus, you remember Freddie Freihofer and Uncle Jim Fisk? Who later built a nice little map business, when such things were still printed on paper.

Rufus T. Firefly said...

JM,

Got the Albany stations in VT when I was just a lad. An innocent time for local TV.

We got 6, 10, 13, and 19 for all of our worldly news. Fortunately, my father received a bunch of newspapers (for his business) to actually let us out of our bubble. The Times-Union, Troy Record, Times, Daily News, Globe and the North Adams Transcript.

Rufus T. Firefly said...

OH, and I'll just say for the record "Ernie Tetrault". You made me look him up, and I found out he died last month. I am sad about that.

https://www.timesunion.com/news/article/Ernie-Tetrault-a-giant-in-local-broadcasting-16088979.php

HoraceClarke66 said...

We were living in Northeastern Mass, and got 2 (the public station), 4, 5, and 7. They moved the Red Sox to Ch. 38—UHF!—so nobody poor got to see them. Fine by me!

And candlepin bowling is really. And much less satisfying than real bowling.

el duque said...

That was a big Yankee win.

Rufus T. Firefly said...

Hoss,

Do you remember that the carmine hose's radio station was WPLM? It was about a 5 watt independent station in Plymouth, hence the call letters. Got the contract because Haywood Sullivan was playing hardball with the major radio stations. One of that racist townie asshole's many mis-steps. WPLM stood for 'we play lousy music' for the locals.

Those were the days.

Rufus T. Firefly said...

And it was a big Yankee win. Let's hope it wakes up the bats in (s)lumberland.

TheWinWarblist said...

Every Yankee win is a Big Yankee Win [BYW]. Especially for this sorry collection of flaming turds and turdlets.

Kevin said...

Why would Yankee management try to undermine the Red Menace's career, especially considering how nice and cheap he is and will be? Please I'm curious about motivation and the actual logic.

Anonymous said...

Kevin--PLEASE SHUT UP AND GET HELP. You're an embarrassing imbecile and boil-covered smelly apologist for Cashman.

Anonymous said...

Don't the Pirates have any good young pitchers we can trade for ? Send them Frazier or Andujar, or both, and give those guys some life.
The Archangel

TheWinWarblist said...

You are too kind and rational The Archangel. The Yankees will never hire you.

And then there's Kevin ...

HoraceClarke66 said...

I still hate to give up on El Matador (Andujar). Frazier looks like a lost cause. And Kevin, you raise a good point. I think the reason The Red Menace was assigned to the doghouse was that he dared to back-sass Brain.

HoraceClarke66 said...

Rufus, I don't remember WPLM...but I loved me some Haywood Sullivan. I remember when he and Buddy LeRoux—the former trainer for the Celtics!—were running the team. Those were the days indeed!

Kevin said...

Winwarblist, I resemble that remark.

Kevin said...

Horace, man, if you are right and Cashman is that petty we are screwed. Or Cheapskate sees what's going on, and Fries The Brain in pure Nesson oil and flushes him down the grease-trap.
