Game 147: NO

I wonder what the poor souls at YES will be showing four of the next six game times.

Stang - To answer your question, I believe that they will be featuring a new editorial program hosted by EBD.

ESPN+?

So we need the Disney package as well? That is TOTAL bullshit.

Doug K. said...

Stang,

I just looked at the mlb site. They have Thursday's game on YES.

https://www.mlb.com/live-stream-games/2022/09/21

Maybe it's on ESPN+ as well.

Stang said...

If he breaks the record and no one gets to see it, there's your Manfred era in a nutshell.

Stang said...

Oh, good, Doug. Thanks.

Doug K. said...

That said... I agree, it would be the Manfred Era in a nutshell.

Stang said...

The 21st is Wednesday. So that's the ESPN+ game that's listed as a YES on MLB. I post this in the hope I'm increasing the confusion.

AboveAverage said...

Just pitch to him tonight and we'll all be alright

Ridiculous lies, including headline “ The Yankees Are Built for a Deep Playoff Run”

Lol

I’m optimistic about Judge. The rest is just not happening.

My bad even though the info is correct.

Tomorrow Wednesday the 21st the game is on YES and your graphic had it on ESPN+ (which is possible)

I wrote Thursday the 21st but it's Wednesday the 21st. on YES.

Thursday is FOX

:)

Judge must’ve forgotten to take his HGH, huh?

Doug K. said...

Why do the Yankees have their fastest runner batting BEHIND their slowest runner?

BTR999 said...

Bader looks like he’ll fit right in

Doug K. said...

There's an RBI because Oswaldo hustled to 3rd on the error.

Doug K. said...

and nice hustle by bader for the next run

Rufus T. Firefly said...

Bader was beating it.

JM said...

It's not like this is the WeAreFamily Pirates.

JM said...

And next, Trivino, the Trevino with more i's.

DickAllen said...

Bader steps in and now the Yankees are on the hook for 30MM. Wasn’t that a good investment?

How does The Intern do it? He keeps piling up payroll that doesn’t pay off. I wonder how much money he’s wasted over the last 20 years on players who have never produced?

JM said...

Name a Yankee bullpen pitcher who can come in and stop runners on base from scoring.

Take your time.

JM said...

Dick, you are so right.

JM said...

Can the opposing manager just put up three fingers when Stanton comes up for an intentional strikeout?

JM said...

Kay has his Sterling moment. "There it goes....foul."

JM said...

Bader is a master!

Doug K. said...

bader

DickAllen said...

Bader is certainly putting his best foot forward.

JM said...

Has a little trouble with his brakes, but okay.

JM said...

Fuck.

DickAllen said...

JM, we may have Michael Kay with us until he dies. Can you imagine what he’ll be like at 80?

TheWinWarblist said...

We have not slept securely since The Great Rivera retired.

TheWinWarblist said...

Lasagna throws 18 pitches and only 9 were strikes.

BTR999 said...

God, this bullpen…

JM said...

Kay at 80...omg...

JM said...

Think of all the time we could save. Three fingers, intentional strikeout.

TheWinWarblist said...

Why won't they IL Stanton? Why?

JM said...

Ass, grass or Glass, nobody rides for free.

JM said...

Good pitch. Better hit.

JM said...

Holmes sucks badly.

JM said...

4 pitches to put the game out of reach.

JM said...

Shitshow.

TheWinWarblist said...

Good night Commentariat. I applaud whoever firebombed the new troll. I was trying to figured out how to block the slimy thing but doing it the old fashion way was exellent.

Fuck. Just fuck it all.

Doug K. said...

well one more batter and then bed.

ranger_lp said...

Judge!!!

Doug K. said...

Well we're all happy now

JM said...

When the bases were loaded he struck out. Now, great but meaning.

JM said...

Meaningless

Beauregard Jackson Pickett Burnside said...

What’s above Supreme Court?

JM said...

I demand more from greatness.

BernBabyBern said...

The Big McLarge Huge Supreme Court?

Hinkey Haines said...

Star Chamber?

Doug K. said...

They should pinch hit for stanton with perraza.

Beauregard Jackson Pickett Burnside said...

Star Chamber, yes. I like that. Lord Magistrate Aaron.

Beauregard Jackson Pickett Burnside said...

The radio is behind. Pleas let Judge’s HR MATTER!

Doug K. said...

hahahahahahahahahahahahhahahahahahaha

ranger_lp said...

Stanton!!!

JM said...

Glass!!!!!!

ranger_lp said...

Yankees Win!!!

BernBabyBern said...

Oh, my. Well, that was something.

Hinkey Haines said...

Next your going to tell me Ere really is an Easter bunny.

ranger_lp said...

When Stanton hit 59 HRs that year, how many clamored that he was doing HGH?

BernBabyBern said...

Holy shit, did Stanton hit that hard.

BernBabyBern said...

And that, friends, is why you never leave a baseball game until the last out us made.

Beauregard Jackson Pickett Burnside said...

This is why Aaron Judge has my unconditional love and respect.

Beauregard Jackson Pickett Burnside said...

John’s getting wistful. I love it.

JM said...

Sniff.

Hinkey Haines said...

I wish I’d been listening while watching. Would’ve loved to hear Sterling’s call of the ninth.

Beauregard Jackson Pickett Burnside said...

Turn on the post game. You can hear it again.

Hinkey Haines said...

This site has both calls. Plus more.

No matter WHAT happens we will always have Casabl, er Judges magnificent season. I've been rooting for this guy since he became the guy who couldn't in his rookie season. The reason, "but nobody has ever played at his height and weight", never mind that bigger men pound the hardwood who are bigger. Hal had better figure out a Way, or it will cost him for the rest of his no account life...

JM said...

I still say, Judge is great, but he whiffed when it mattered and homered when it didn't. The media is skewing it differently but that's the fact, Jack.

ranger_lp said...

@JM…Judge mentioned that in the post game presser…said he was kicking himself for the strikeout rounding the bases…

Kevin said...

LOL!!!! BTW, I just noticed that Judge has 372 total bases, a staggering sixty more than runner-up Paul Goldschmidt. Hexes on any evil eyes, but 400+ TBs would be so much frosting. He has a great shot... Must be the andro powder, Rocky Mountain Oysters, and pickled pigs' feet...

Joe of AZ said...

Ugh... so excited bout this game...till I checked the team we were playing and realized WE STRUGGLED AGAINST THE FUCKIN PIRATES

HoraceClarke66 said...

So I couldn't catch the game. Did I miss anything?

HoraceClarke66 said...

It's true, JM, but even the best get beat sometimes.

In that bases-loaded situation, Judge swung at what turned out to be an excellent pitch, rising and cutting in on him at the last moment. Yes, he probably should have taken it for ball four, and I do worry that he will try to do too much knowing how much he has to carry this team.

But also...it happens. And good for him, being able to get back up there and not let it bother him.

HoraceClarke66 said...

Still can't picture this team going anywhere. But hey, it was fun to see tonight, and how about that Hotsie-Totsie Bader?

AboveAverage said...

Bader was impressive Hosssssssssssssssssssss. Loved his intensity

Joe Formerlyof Brooklyn said...

From the NY Times. Yeah, I know, but check this out. It's how I've thought. No matter what happens, Judge is in the process of writing his name into The Book.

With letters created from gold.

= = =

Dillon Lawson is the NYY's hitting coach.

- - -

Then Lawson couldn’t help himself. He complimented Judge, saying, “My kids’ kids are going to be talking about this.” Judge simply smiled. Reflecting on the moment later, Lawson added, “I’ll pass away and there’s going to be generations that are gone that will still be talking about Aaron Judge the way that they talk about these Yankees legends.”

HoraceClarke66 said...

Dillon Lawson is a better commentator than he is a batting coach. Hey, it was a great win, and a fun night at the ballpark. If baseball were football, I'd say this Yankees team might have the momentum to go deep in the playoffs.

But baseball is not football, and momentum is the next day's pitchers. They are liable to come out there and go flat again. But they can't take away tonight!

Kevin said...

Ahh, Hoss remember what the man who knew too much said (Earl Weaver?), "Que sera, sera"...

13bit said...

We have a lineup with mediocre hitters. Most of our decent pitchers are burnt out. Or traded. Our coach is a moron.

Don't buy the Kool-Aid.

Don't eat the yellow snow.

Don't play with matches.

We suck. Brian is an idiot. Hal doesn't care. Santa Claus doesn't exist and he is, basically, a nightmarish apparition.

I'm not even looking forward to the hot stove anymore. it has become a drag.

I'm am being rewarded for many decades - more than half a century, by far - of Yankee loyalty with disingenuous behavior from our ownership and leadership. They don't really care about winning.

Sorry to start the day so bleak. Time for coffee.
