Rain of terror

We are 1-2 since becoming the Golden State Warriors of baseball.

And if not for Kinsler's error Monday, we probably would be 0-3 since Cashman punched his ticket for Cooperstown.

DUMP FRAZIER. TODD THE S#ITTY ONE

THE ONLY GUY WE HAVE THAT CAN HIT IN THE CLUTCH WITH RUNNERS ON BASE IS CLINT.

.....AND HE DIDN'T PLAY TODAY.

PRAY WE DON'T SEND CLINT DOWN WHEN HICKS COMES BACK.

PRAY HARD....

.....AND TODD FRAZIER REALLY LOOKS LIKE HE IS 41 NOT 31. HE EVEN LOOKS OLD.

And we are 0-2 since the trade deadline, when the trades went official.

Averaging 1.5 runs per game.

Apparently without any coaching ability.

And a manager well past his " sell-by" date.

I encapsulate for you the difference between a competent and incompetent GM:

Boston needs a third baseman at the trade deadline and acquires Eduardo Nunez, a very good hitter with speed and power who plays adequate defense.

The Yankees don't need a third baseman at the trade deadline--they have a fine young player at AAA who is batting .330 with speed and power who plays first-rate defense--but nevertheless acquire Todd Frazier, a merely adequate third baseman with no speed, who barely bats above the Mendoza Line despite flashes of power: in short, another aging dead weight on a team already burdened with one in Matt Holliday.

And remember as well that Nunez, who is a better overall player than Headley or Frazier, was dumped by a Yankee front office that has never shown any patience with young players--so don't bet on all this rebuilding jazz. If a kid doesn't play like a Hall of Famer in his first 20 at-bats, he gets buried or traded for . . . whoever made the All-Star team once five years ago.

Well said.

Nunez, Prado, Solarte, Pirela, Refsnyder, etc.: Cashman has a terrible habit of simply ignoring the contributions of good-hitting utility players who can play anywhere on the field, and burying them or trading them for nothing.

In fact, these are always the sorts of guys who put good teams over the top. Look at Luis Sojo/ Vizcaino/ Polonia for us in 2000.

Actually Nunez had 752 AB with the Yankees, his OPS+ was 88 [100 is average], and he was an erratic fielder.

I don't think it was so terrible to trade Nunez. I just think it was a mistake to trade him for pocket lint, which is what Cashman did.
