Here the thing: Montgomery didn't suck. Holding the opposition to two runs should be enough. With any kind of run support, he wins.

I'm still high on this guy.

WHOA! WHOA, ALPHONSO!...HAHA.... I KNOW THERE WERE A LOT OF SHAKY MOMENTS TODAY, BUT 6 INNINGS AND 2 RUNS SHOULD GET US A WIN 7 OUT OF 10 TIMES...(TOO BAD GIRARDI'S LINEUP KNOCKS THOSE ODDS BACKWARDS TO AROUND 5 OUT OF 10).... SHIT.

You guys are all right on. Monty looked to be in trouble all game long, but 2 runs in 6 innings isn't bad for a rookie. I was doing my best to invoke some negative Ju-Ju, whilst there was still time. I don't often practice, " Gamus interruptis," on the blog. But it seemed a desperate game and moment.
