My wife had Stage II colon cancer. Discovered during an operation ostensibly for diverticulitis. Great surgeon, chemo treatments for six months or so, cancer-free ever since. Knock on wood.

You can make it OK, Trey.

I hope he makes it too. There has been much scientific advance regarding cancer treatment with more specific protocols for the disease based on the cell type/RNA of the cancer. Even immunotherapy has been very promising in getting the body's immune system to recognize cancer cells as hostile and therefore attack them rather than being tricked into feeding them as one of their own.

Can't say I was ever much of a Trey Mancini fan, but by the time I got to the end of his story, I became one. Definitely rooting for him. As a prostate cancer survivor myself (2009), I know there is life after surgery and treatment. Hope that's the case for Mancini, too!
