Pitchers & catchers??

Having attended spring training games over the past few years in Tampa, Bradenton and Sarasota, I'm on every spring training email list. They are already soliciting me to buy tickets, and positing that spring training WILL - in fact - be starting on time. But with the pandemic still raging everywhere, especially in Florida, how is that even possible?

So I'm just asking if anyone has any inside info about the actual likelihood of spring training starting in mid-February, or even starting AT ALL? It seems crazy to me; but then I never imagined that all four major sports leagues would be able to stage their seasons in one form or another last year, and yet, they did.

Thoughts?

If MLB can force a vaccine policy that prioritizes major league baseball players and fans with tickets to spring training games ( also, hot dog vendors, beer guys, etc ), there will be spring training as usual.

But if the current roll-out of the vaccine continues ( mostly chaos and waste ) , I think it is a questionable expectation.

America is not gaining a reputation for having its head out of its ass.

They are saying the minor leagues will be delayed a month, so the Triple A Syracuse Whatevers would start around May 1, rather than April.

Depends if they can get the players and coaches vaccinated, I guess. No way it'll be safe to sit in the stands in Florida in 2021.

'Phonso, the stadium workers and food vendors would be eligible for vaccination, in NY at least, as "essential workers."

What about the rat feces?

OK, Hoss, we'll give the rat feces the vaccine, too. No use having yet another disease in their systems.

I was getting worried.
