Drunk Blog continues: Isn't this cruel and unusual punishment?

The comedy team of Pineda and Betances.

John called it "a terrible loss."

I can't believe we're squandering one of the great breakout seasons in modern history.

Let the selloffs begin. I need to stick my head in a bucket of icewater.

someone needs to grab Betances by the scruff of his neck and rub his nose into the plate, then lock him in a crate for the night. I don't know what else to do with him.

I can't take it. A black cloud is following me and I can't make it stop.

EE-Gad, Duque - - God's Bodkins!! What a downer that photo is!! Couldn't you find a more attractive one than that?? Perhaps actual pigs rooting in slop, or something else less depressing?? LB (No J)

Pineda Disease turns out to be contagious. "It's a mechanical problem" is baseball-speak for "He's a head case. We have no idea what happened."

Hey, remember April when all of our starters were Cy Young and all of our bullpen guys were Goose Gossage and Mariano?

Man, those were the days.

Girardi ruined Betances. When Chapman was out, all the games were losses or blowouts. So our substitute closer, who must never be used except in his prescribed role, sat in the bullpen four and five days at a time while his arm stiffened and his head filled with doubts.

THIS IS HILARIOUS....... READY GUYS?

GIRARDI TOLD AUNT SUZYN, THE ONLY WAY TO GET BETANCES BACK ON TRACK IS TO KEEP PUTTING HIM OUT THERE!..... HAHAHAHAHA!...HILARIOUS!

WHAT?.... NO REST NOW?.... SO NOW, WE FOLLOW THE "CLIPPARD, BACK ON TRACK, TEMPLATE OF SUCCESS?"......WE PUT BETANCES OUT THERE EVERY DAY, NO MATTER WHAT, AND BLOW GAME AFTER GAME?....... ALL OF A SUDDEN, A TIRED ARM DOESN'T MATTER!

......BUT WHEN BETANCES WAS GOING GOOD, AND WE WERE IN A TIGHT GAME IN THE 7TH INNING WITH 1 OUT AND RUNNERS ALL OVER THE BASES, NOOOOOOOO!..... GOD FORBID!..... NO WAY WE CAN USE HIM FOR 2 EXTRA OUTS IN THE 7TH.......

......AND I THINK OF THE FEW GAMES WHEN WE WERE BLOWING OUT OTHER TEAMS BY 7 OR 8 RUNS, AND BETANCES CAME IN TO GET "WORK" BECAUSE HE HADN'T BEEN USED ENOUGH.

I FEEL LIKE I'M IN AN ASYLUM.

It is time we start a movement for a new manager.

We still have our version of Alan Greenspan at the helm.

Parading out the same old formulae.

Making the decisions that seemed to work in the dark ages.

We need a force and a mind on the bench.

Girardi can get a job with AAA.

He is a nice man.

And we are collapsing.

GIRARDI IS A NICE MAN....

BILLY MARTIN PROBABLY WASN'T....

YOU THINK BILLY WOULD WORRY ABOUT HEADLEY'S FEELINGS WHEN IT COMES TO LETTING HIM BAT RIGHT HANDED AGAINST A LEFTY PITCHER?

YOU THINK BILLY WOULD LET STEPHEN DREW PLAY FOR ALMOST AN ENTIRE SEASON HITTING .190 MOST OF THE YEAR?

THINK BILLY WOULD ACCEPT NO FOR AN ANSWER FROM A RELIEVER HE WANTED TO PITCH AN EXTRA INNING?

THINK BILLY WOULD EVER THINK ABOUT RESTING A PLAYER A DAY AFTER HE GOT 2 OR MORE HITS??

WE ALL KNOW BILLY WASN'T A PERFECT PERSON, BUT I CONCUR WITH ALPHONSO'S SENTIMENTS.
WE NEED A FORCE AND A MIND ON THE BENCH, A BIT MORE "OLD SCHOOL" THAN GIRARDI.
