Why Does Cashman Have A Job?

Seriously, Yankee fans and Yankee haters, are we really all snowed by the Miller & Chapman trades of last summer?

We are already in the process of giving back all of the advantage we supposedly gained.  Different names, perhaps, but drawn from the identical minor league talent pool.

Blake Rutherford was, without the same fanfare, perhaps our best young position player.  Ian Clarkin a number one pick.  And that third guy with the short name and stature, a potential all star once he is given the freedom to play and have a full fur face.

But I am still lamenting the Ben Gamel trade.  As Duque has embellished, this kid had it all and was major league ready.  But we had a senior, veteran, dragged out, overpaid contract for a former good player (Ellsbury) who must play, or Cashman will look like an idiot for giving him $135 million and a lifetime to earn it.  Gamel should be in our outfield and Ellsbury should be back in Boston with his grandchildren.

SO NOW WE BEGIN AGAIN:

1.  I think we all know now that the Yankees were on the wrong side of the Jesus Montero trade, even though Jesus is a minor league ice cream sandwich vendor.

2.  Who even knows that the Yankees received anything for the Ben Gamel trade?  Duque mentioned a couple of 19 year olds but, seriously, these are not people. They are what Duque uses as, " space fillers,"  when there is nothing to say.

Just to be clear:  we gave up a young, major league ready, talent with speed, power, defense, a great arm and who hits for average, has a high on base percentage, and steals base,s for two kids waiting in their parents car for their pick-up order at Arby's.  Two kids who have not even starred in a local stick ball league.  This is Jay Buhner 2.

Jay Buhner 3 will be when Hicks thinks he is ready, and the " good Frazier" is sent to Scranton, for demoralization.  He will sink into despair, fail at his game, and get traded to Seattle for the right to pay for nothing, again.

Cashman is a plague who doesn't ever catch the damn disease.  Someone please do something.

One more serious giveaway of talent, in a frothy, drooling, foam at the mouth move toward the one game play-in, and I am out as a Yankee fan.  The young talent we have, well managed and developed, can lead to exciting baseball, always wir5h watching.  But if this talent is mis-managed, abused, and given away to get some phony reason to claim a successful season by making the play-in, and I am gone as a fan.  My life is too short to remain optimistic watching Ellsbury and Headley, and all of that ilk.

Now everyone's favorite Refsnyder has been traded to the Blue Jays for another scrap heap first baseman, but this time from double A. Hitting under 250 at double A won't ever get him up to the big leagues. It's very depressing...

Ellsbury seems to be pissed he's been demoted, hopefully he throws a tantrum and they just cut him. And thank God the Brigadoon is gone...he'll probably play in Toronto for 13 years and hit .460 lifetime against the Yankees.

Whatever Brigadoon does against us won't match what Gambel will do against us in a single game. He is humiliating Cashman, who will likely get a raise and a contract extension.

How do we say, "fuck me" in Dutch?

Bye, Brigadoon. Another great job by the Yankees organization.

I will be a Yankee fan forever. I made it through the sixties and early seventies. I made it through the eighties and early nineties, and I'll make it through this period. If I'm lucky, I'll live long enough to see Cashman in the rearview mirror AND - something I never wished until recently - a new owner besides George's unholy offspring. Patience will reward eventually AND we are closer now than we have been in recent years to being interesting again. I'm not going to indulge in projection, catastrophizing or confabulation. Let's see what happens and try to enjoy the moment. I am nothing if not loyal. Perhaps a bit stupid, as well.

As an aside, I was a loyal Jets fan, from the time I was 7 or 8 until just a few years ago, but I finally rescinded - at small psychic cost - my loyalty to that blighted organization. I feel as though they stole 45 years of my life, but who's counting? Luckily, my eyes are now open to the scam that is professional football, so I can sleep at night. The Yankees will rise again and some of the big pieces are already in place.

Summed up perfectly 13bit. The Jets are a wretched and cursed organization, and no matter what they eventually break you. When did you finally quit? I quit after 2015 when the team shit the bed in Buffalo. Saw many disaster seasons, watched too many 4-12's and painfully mediocre 7-9's, kind of silly was a 10-6 record that broke me. Alas I found last Autumn to be incredibly pleasant. Football is unwatchable - and is flat out torture if your team is consistently terrible. "Oh baseball is so slow" they cry, but football takes 3.5 hours for about 5 minutes of people moving. Score, commercial, kickoff, commercial, three and out, commercial - and instant replays everywhere from every camera angle.

Anyways, if I may put words in 13bit's mouth. Cashman is terrible, Hal is the devil. However, you haven't suffered until you spent time rooting for a team that is always bad. The owners, GMs, coaches, scouts, and players all come and go, but somehow the Jets never improve. So as bad as the Yankees' brass is, they are no where near the abysmal levels that would require us to lose hope...but we can still hate them.

IT'S ALMOST "HIGH NOON" FOR CASHMAN AND GIRARDI.

WHEN THE GREAT AARON HICKS COMES BACK, WHAT WILL THEY DO?

I HAVE ALREADY READ A CASHMAN QUOTE SAYING CLINT WILL GO BACK AND PLAY IN AAA.

DOESN'T THAT SEEM IMPOSSIBLE ON THE BASIS OF TRYING TO WIN GAMES?

CLINT FRAZIER IS GIVING US SOMETHING WE HAVEN'T HAD SINCE THE 90'S WINNING TEAMS.

HUSTLE, GRIT, FIRE, POWER, TALENT, AND TIMELY CLUTCH HITS!!

IF WE SEND THAT KID DOWN, (OR WORSE, TRADE HIM), THAT WOULD BE A DECISION EQUIVALENT
TO SOMETHING THE NEW YORK KNICKS WOULD DO....AND THAT'S SCARY.

THE RED SOX RELEASED PABLO SANDOVAL AND HIS $95 MILLION

THE RED SOX SIGNED RUSNEY CASTILLO FOR $72 MILLION, AND PUT HIM IN THE MINORS.

SEE WHERE I'M GOING WITH THIS?

And Ref will bat .300 in Toronto...you watch....

Gamel is a corner outfielder with now power, good enough to be a major leager, but not good enough to be a Yankee.

REVENGE IS A POWERFUL THING....

BEN GAMEL
RUSSELL MARTIN
MELKY CABRERA
JOGGY CANO
ALL KILL US...

I'M SURE I'M MISSING MANY MORE..
ADD ONE MORE POSSIBLITY..
ROB REFSNYDER

ANOTHER POSSIBLE DOPEY MOVE BY CASHMAN..
TRADE HIM TO A TEAM WE DON'T FACE 19 TIMES A SEASON!
STUPID!!!!

LIKE I SAID, REVENGE IS A POWERFUL EMOTION, (AND MOTIVATOR).

Ref will have more than earned every revenge hit he ever gets against the Yankees. He got screwed out of at least two good years by the organization and deserved better as a player. All the best to him with the Jays.
